Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. was recently censored by Arizona Republicans for being too much of a RINO and a generally irascible fellow. Sarah Palin has taken to her Facebook page to rally to the venerable war hero's defense.

I’m sorry but I don’t give a fiddler’s fart what he did over 40 years ago. It’s about the “here and now.” He’s got to fudging retire! Or get voted out. Now!
A reverse ace he is - wonder how many were killed do to that carrier tragedy.
At this point Mr. K, I appreciate your take on this, but loyalty? Seriously?
Why do you think I pounced on that comment? Was it because I found it to be so moving and logical at this point?
It was ridiculous. If Ted Kennedy gave you $1 million dollars, would you be loyal to him, or you would easily admit the guy was a gigantic Leftist anti-American idiot?
The loyalty thing just doesn’t play anymore, and when folks use that kind of logic, I think they deserve whatever they get.
McCain has aided al Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood, Obama, the Left who hates Conservatives, and has encouraged and given cover to the Right who hates Conservatives.
Loyalty?
You and I probably agree on a great deal here, but this premise of yours that loyalty is so special, ignoring who and what she is effectively showing loyalty to, whether intended or not, destroys here credibility for one or more important reasons.
Yes, I’ve read it a couple of times. I’m assuming this is the part that is considered taking McCain to task. I guess I just don’t see it. She says they disagree on some things. Hardly taking him to task.It sounds more like she wanted to come to McCain’s defense and put a little postscript to her support to cover all her bases. I’m disappointed that she did this.
“It goes without saying we don’t all agree on all political issues. For instance, I shall keep pushing to open ANWR, I oppose letting illegal aliens cut in line and receive American benefits via “immigration reform,” and I oppose any Congressional action that allows President Obama to incur more U.S. debt.”
It sounded more to me like she wanted to please John McCain and her conservative base at the same time. That’s not possible without being just a bit disengenuous which is the last thing this country needs right now. There are more important things to worry about than stroking McCains ego and sparing his feelings. When a leader like Sarah, who may have her eyes on the WH this is something that bothers me a bit. Just saying.
Every candidate has weaknesses. We can’t put on blinders about them. While this wouldn’t necessarily eliminate her from my choices it certainly is something I will remember and notice if I see more of it. However it certainly wouldn’t be on the same level if she had spoken out in favor of amnesty.
The Republican party is never going to support Palin nor will they give her one thin dime. Count on it.
Didn’t she buy a house in Arizona a few years ago? She may have plans to run for senate once he leaves. Just a thought.
138 lost souls...
McCain’s capture and POW years are an enigma for me. Here’s a man that was a despicable lout up to his active duty off and over Vietnam, and after his stint as a POW in Hanoi. And yet, I am to think that his service in Hanoi was the one time in his life when he manned up.
Some folks are not convinced of it. I honestly don’t know what to think.
His treatment of the MIA families and veterans to shove through MFN for Vietnam sure didn’t help me lean in his direction either, when questions came up re his military service.
I have the deepest respect for our POWs and MIA people in Vietnam. For this reason I generally don’t make a pro or con comment regarding this period in McCain’s life. I sure can’t say that I don’t have my suspicions or doubts.
If it is true that he was the first pilot evacuated from the Enterprise after the incident, it sure does tweak my interest why.
>In 35 posts, not a single person read the full article. Thats obvious.<
Did you take a poll? I read the article TWICE because I couldn’t believe what I was reading. Because someone disagrees with you obviously we didn’t read the article? Interesting.
Palin is committing political suicide here. Lie down with RINOs, you wake up with fleas. Loyalty is foolish.

If you consider this giving him a free pass then we won’t agree on much. She thanked him for his support of the military then kicked his butt for supporting amnesty and Obama’s debt hunger.

I agree with you on that. I don’t think we would agree much either. If you see saying that she doesn’t agree with McCain on all issues kicking his butt then I guess you may think that assuming people haven’t read the article if they disagree with you and then calling them ignorant is??? I don’t know, what would YOU call it?
You know what they say about people who ASSume don’t you?
That's pretty much it.
Look, a Clinton/Almost Anything short of Obama ticket, would be the worst I could think of. Gag me to the X.
I can think of worse… I think the Republican-party would do its best in that respect, too.
>> (That'd be the Democrat ticket, the Republican would -undoubtedly- be worse, like: Christie/Snowe.)
>
> Honestly, I would hate the Christie/Snowe ticket too, because they would be doing a myriad of very Leftist things during their four years. And worse yet, those Leftist things would be done under the (R) label, practically destroying our brand in the process.
Destroying? I think that's the wrong tense — destroyed seems more appropriate… esp. with amnesty being talked about.
The Republican party convinced me it was about nothing that it claims to be, and cemented that with their anointing Romney (retroactive primary rule-changes, RNC, etc) for 2012.
I particularly like the photo of McCain with the Muslim Brotherhood leadership. Nothing says support for our military quite like that. And those shoulder fired SAMs he helped get the Libyan rebels...
Now he wants us in Syria.
Support for the military? Could you please fire off a request he support our military a bit less?
Where’s his voice when it comes to only two active duty flat-tops on the high seas at a time? Where was his support for the F22?
Was he supporting our Military when he trashed the MIA families and veterans while he pushed through MFN for Vietnam?
I can’t share your view that he is a supporter of the military.
Yes, we’re of a mind on these matters. I appreciate the response.
It never fails. On Palin threads, FReepers become the very leftists that they'll denounce on other threads.
I know...that’s why I laughed.
I doubt you would have said the same words to Col. Oliver North..........
Sarah Palin is the best thing that happened to America since wool blankets. It gets my dander up when people start cutting her down and tossing her out. She’s the one who Ted Cruz thanks for his winning a seat in the Senate.
She ain’t perfect but she’s a helluva lot better than anything I’ve seen in 40 years of following politics. Can you name one politician who reminds us to love Jesus every chance she can? We are not going to save America without Him and she’s one of the very, very few who knows it.
Just awful. I guess she may just be planning to be his replacement in 2016.
If my father was as rich and connected as John McCain, he’d be in the U.S. Senate instead of in an Alzheimer’s care facility.
