Every state needs a law like this. Civil forfeitures have spun out of control. Too often the [certain] legal costs outweigh the [possible] value of recovery.
It is as sleazy, if not more so, than a patrol car parked at the bottom of a hill with an unrealistically low speed limit and a radar gun.

What is the effect of making drugs and prostitution legal?
We will not see a reduction of cops. We will see those cops picking on folks for more minor offenses (rasis remarks, anti-gay actions, etc.) and making a big deal about it.
And if there is asset forfeiture as a reward, well, it will get worse.

Aasset forfeiture. Yet another police state tactic sponsored by the supporters of the ‘war on drugs’. This war on drugs has done more to destroy this nation than any number of terrorists, yet you’ll find full-throated support for it right here on Free Republic.
