In his press conference on December 20th, President Obama urged the House of Representatives to support the Senates immigration bill, which passed 68-32 in late June. Among the concerns cited by Americans who oppose reform are that immigrants will take their jobs, drive down wages, increase criminal activity, burden the welfare system, and reshape the cultural dynamic of the country. These concerns are mostly ill-founded. The legitimate concerns have real solutions, and a more open immigration policy will be a net benefit for all Americans...
Highlights from Article:
- A 2013 study by the American Action Forum states that "immigration reform can raise population growth, labor force growth, and thus growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
- In 2013 the Bipartisan Policy Center came to similar conclusions. It makes the prediction that current provisions, as included in the Senate Bill, would raise GDP 4.8 percent over twenty years.
- According to the Immigration Policy Center, immigrant males between the ages of 18 and 39 (which constitute the greatest portion of the prison population) are five times less likely to be incarcerated than are natives.
- A 2011 survey by the Pew Research Center revealed that 92 percent of second generation and 96 percent of third generation Hispanics speak English proficiently.
- A 2010 Gallup poll revealed that Hispanics attend church services more often than non-Hispanic whites.
- Since an influx of immigrants means an expansion of the labor supply, many assert that the result will be less jobs and lower wages. However, as asserted by Jason Riley, a member of the Wall Street Journal editorial board, The number of jobs in the United States is not static. Its fluid, which is how we want it to be.

Pitch, propriety, and timing.
They believe they sound great.
Every Church choir has one of those. Usually in the soprano section...
What if they are secretly shoggoths?
That would explain a lot!
It’s almost as if they are auditioning to be singers for the band Korn!
LOL! None of us likes Korn.
I have been on the go since 0630 this morning, and I’ve put over 100 miles on the truck. My right hand and wrist hurt from the gear shift and driving in traffic, and I’m cranky.
Other than that, it’s been a stellar day! Mostly sunny, 53 degrees with a breeze of about 10 mph, but there is another layer of snow on Mt. Charleston. It looks so pretty from here!
And the Package Bunneh dropped off a semi-sofie. My divining aura says the semi is a book of paper dolls and the sofie is a Tee-shirt...I need to open it, I think!
Tomorrow I plan to do nothing, and He Who Shall Not Be Named had better not even ask me what time it is tomorrow...
Tell He to go talk to the shoggoth.
I got a package, too! Many small sparlke things.
Especially when sung by shoggoths.
Ummm... so exactly how do you tell the difference between a shoggoth and a bad soprano???
Not exactly certain!
Shoggoths have terrible sounds, bizarre piping noises that do not fit with standard vocalizations.
Look for bad sopranos that sing with their tongues mostly out of their mouths.
Only one package???? If only one, many sparkly things are yet to come!
I will be a bit more forceful than the simple, “Talk to the hand,” for sure. I had to get a bottle of cheap pink Adult Beverage, just so I can unwind... I didn’t plan on taking a trip today, but I sure did! Traffic lights and stupid drivers included.
But it’s all done with, except for making out money orders and printing up postage. I will do that tomorrow. :o])
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR REDHEAD!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! *and many more....*
<3
As the Gran would say, “May the Bluebird of Happiness do something uncalled-for, unrepeatable, and unnamed over whatever celebration you’re having!” And have FUN!
Two package. I was rushing and Kathleen was sitting on me.
Cub Scouts exhausted me. We did calisthenics and ran around the church a couple of times. After that they were able to do some artwork in reasonable order.
Figuring that the best way to convince all you glow bull warmthing deniers that the anthropogenic glow bull warmthing is true science, come daylight I took my trusty digital photo device and, properly attired for the warmthing season, I ventured forth into the world of the back yard, or there-abouts to record the assured effects of the warmthing that we are assuredly experiencing.
With the above as background, here is one of the photos I took so that you can visually verify in your own mind that anthropogenic glow bull warmthing is a proven fact. Notice the lush growth evidenced here in the rose garden. Aren't the roses beautiful this time of year? Why without glow bull warmthing they would be unsightly sticks with only some cling-on leaves but observe how they are flourishing in the glow bull warmthing. And aren't the trumpet vine and honeysuckle vine on the fence in the back really magnificent? And the grass looks so healthy that I might be forced to mow it sooner than I planned. Notice also the abundant growth of the peonies right there by the red reflector.
Isn't it great that the scientific commune is spending our tax dollars researching this so that we can be enlightened as to the true world around us?
-----
NOTE:
If you actually see grass, peonies, flowering roses, trumpet vines and honeysuckle all abloom in this photo, you are obviously partaking of some controlled substance just like those climate scientists who get stuck in ice in Antarctica in the summer.
I can describe this any way I want using flowery words and splatter some pseudoscience around the edges but anything I say will not change the truth that it is still a photo of a rose garden in WINTER and calling it anything else won't make it change. Is a 'sarcasm' tag really necessary?
Where's my Nobel Prize?

Good morning. My trusty weather service report says, “Much colder than yesterday.” 40s and rain, to be specific.

It’s looking all wintry there, isn’t it?
