Have to find out about that. ...
must go, midnight.
EVERYTHING at Novak’s is just delicious. For lunch or dinner I suggest you try the Combo with Cafe Budapest to drink, and a generous slice of Dobos Torta for dessert. I’d suggest a Dessert Combo, so you can sample several things, but only if you’re dining as a group, or plan to box most of it up and take it home for later.
For those of you at too great a distance, I recommend buying the recipe book they offer for sale:

Corned beef, sour cream, and chives.
Goodnight.
See you tomorrowish.
The restaurant is about 70mi form Clackamas out on the eastern fringe of Portland, so gauge her traveling distance accordingly. I assure you that the dining experience is VERY well worth the drive.
The Chicken Paprikas, Szekely Toltott Kaposzta, and Papa’s Kolbasz are all so good; its very difficult to select a favorite.
“Happy Monday.”
So THAT’S what this train wreck is called...
Looking at the album pics, I see the pattern of the dress. Very nice, and the necklace is perfect. You are so cute and petite!
You are right; turquoise is lovely paired with many colors, even unexpected ones like chocolate brown.
I love gorgeous, saturated color. One of my favorites is emerald green. Not everyone likes green, but it’s “in style” right now, so it’s easier to find.
You are a total sweetie! Thank you very much! I doubt that we’ll get to Oregon anytime soon, so I asked about your favorite dishes so that I could do a search for recipes. Lo and behold, they not only have a “baker’s dozen” of their recipes, but also have authentic Hungarian paprika! (A friend went to Hungary and brought me back a bag of it, and I made many delicious meals with it. The stuff I buy here doesn’t compare favorably to it.) They also say that a cookbook is coming, so is the baker’s dozen like a brochure and then they plan to do something more elaborate? The only Hungarian thing I’ve made are paprikas. I have a recipe for langos which I haven’t tried yet, but I think I’ll wait until I get the recipes. I’ll ask about the cookbook, too, when I call them tomorrow. Tonight, I’ll dream of Dobos tort!
I like emerald green, too!
Sweet dreams, Mr. Moose!
We’re in a small club, lol.
When I sign up to take meals to people from the church or the homeschool association, I put down that I’m bringing “Alarming Election Chili,” “The Noodle Dish with Chickpeas,” or “Chicken-Something.”
If they’re hungry, they’ll eat it! Alarming Election Chili is very popular.
I call that “Melange of Leftovers.”
Thank you. The necklace (and little turtle earrings, hard to see in the dark) are from the Southwest Indian Foundation catalog. The dress is from The Salvation Army - 100% silk, looked like it was never worn, and I got it for $2.75.
Corned beef, sour cream, and chives.
Add some french bread to that melange, as we’re good to go!
“call that Melange of Leftovers.
Some Restaurants start with “melange” on the menu...so where are they getting these gorgeous leftovers from?
Bubble and squeak with bacon...slurp.
Some funny things go on in restaurants. I read “Kitchen Confidential.”
