In the culture war for mankind’s future, is he one of us?
While such a question may be blasphemous in Western circles, consider the content of the Russian president’s state of the nation address.
With America clearly in mind, Putin declared, “In many countries today, moral and ethical norms are being reconsidered.”
“They’re now requiring not only the proper acknowledgment of freedom of conscience, political views and private life, but also the mandatory acknowledgment of the equality of good and evil.”
Translation: While privacy and freedom of thought, religion and speech are cherished rights, to equate traditional marriage and same-sex marriage is to equate good with evil.
No moral confusion here, this is moral clarity, agree or disagree.
President Reagan once called the old Soviet Empire “the focus of evil in the modern world.” President Putin is implying that Barack Obama’s America may deserve the title in the 21st century.
Nor is he without an argument when we reflect on America’s embrace of abortion on demand, homosexual marriage, pornography, promiscuity, and the whole panoply of Hollywood values.
Our grandparents would not recognize the America in which we live.
Moreover, Putin asserts, the new immorality has been imposed undemocratically.

Buchanan is a clown. He can’t separate state propaganda from an actual Christian. That’s why we, as a movement, keeping getting conned by losers like Mittens or Ryan.

A KGB officer intent to re-build the USSR following the defeat in the Cold War as a country that like the USSR will be run by secret police and do so with the cooperation of the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate).
He is seeing, correctly, the weakness of the West being its de-Christianization, and is exploiting it. Hopefully no one would take political advice from this fox.
And his criticism of moral relativism in the West is on the money.

Putin is giving PC a kick-in-the-butt. In this respect he’s one of us. Today at Christmas Mass in the Cathedral of Cologne, a topless “FEMEN” protester disrupted serviced. In the US she’d be the new Sandra Fluke interviewed on 60 Minutes. In Putin’s Russia she’d be thrown into jail. In this respect, Putin is “our” kind of guy.

OK Putin is an enemy.
Now who is the most dangerous enemy—Putin or Obama.
Obama gets my vote.
Putin is “nation building” by establishing a moral foundation in faith upon which to build a better Russia. Whatever his objectives, establishing/strengthening Judeo-Christian foundation and fostering its growth has been absolutely proven the single most effective means to grow and nurture a society to greatness. Whether or not his purpose is our own, I would not care to venture. Keep in mind that a Russia compelled by rational Christian morality may take an exceptionally unfavorable view to a perverted and pervert lead American government.
Someone once said that eventually the Russians would realize that they’re white and Christian.
We have met the enemy and its “US”. How else could our electorate be so screwed up as to elect a socialist gay-loving Muslin community organizer for two terms as President and socialist judges telling us how to live our lives.

That is different. No question that a nationalist with an appreciation of the role of Christianity in society, -- which Putin is, -- would be an improvement in any Western government.
But unless "us" in the title is Soviet revanchists, the answer is No, not one of us.
