My family is in urgent need of prayers. Our landlord unexpectly sold the farm we had been renting with an eye toward rent-to-own. New owner will not even speak to us. Wants us out of his new weekend retreat before January 3. No compromise. He is completely within his legal rights to do this, btw. I am talking about 7 people, including 2 preschoolers, becoming homeless on a Kentucky Appalachian mountaintop in January. We have a cow ready to calve any day now, 3 horses, and farming hand tools we have been gathering for several years. If we and our possessions are not out of the house by the 3rd, we will lose everything we have been working for and have to squat in the woods somewhere in our camper, car, and with only the clothes on our backs. We thought we had caught a break yesterday when an old man told us we could stay in this unfinished farmhouse (Just a shell-no water, electricity, or heat. Uninhabitable by today's standards, but we could have made it work). My sons went to meet him last night and he never showed. Now we cannot contact him by phone. We are not ones to rely on assistance from the government. It kills the soul. But this situation is too much to bear. Until we went through 6 cars in a year and could no longer afford reliable transportation for my 126 mile round trip every day, I was a cardio-thoracic operating room nurse. Don't ever think this cannot happen to you. We have personally seen God make a way where there was no way. But I would be lying if I said our faith is not being severely tested right now. Please pray that God would see us safely through this trial. Our only desires are to remain together, be warm, keep our cow for food, and be able to grow a large garden. The extra stuff doesn't matter. Please pray for us. God bless and Merry Christmas.
Please forgive terrible lack of formatting. I am using an old cell phone and just spent 2 hours trying to get the above posted.
Prayers up.
Gracious Lord, please help Siouxz and his family find a new place to at least temporarily stay. Please provide your guiding hand and ensure that whatever happens is for Your glory. Amen.
‘Pod.
I will. Have you tried to get help from the church?
Of course I will pray for you. But, on the other hand, I trying to figure out what your reason for posting is. Also, if the owner wants to lease-to-buy this house and associated property why didn’t you jump on it?
Prayers for you and your family are on the way.
I am praying for you.

There are lots of options. If you can’t find anything just don’t move. He will have to evict you which will give you more time to find something.
But you won’t be homeless. That the new owner would treat you in such a way doesn’t speak well of them.
Prayers up.
Now get a lawyer.
Praying for you now.
Just a thought: Obviously your situation is made more complicated because of the animals. Are there any neighbors you could appeal to to care for the animals while you find a temporary home for your family? This would give you more time to find an appropriate home.
There is no shame in taking government assistance. That is what it is there for. We all believe in a safety net for when hard times come, and they do come. It is not for those who simply try to game the system to avoid work or responsibility.
Prayer for you and family. I know my God is generous. And I know how hard it is not to become overwhelmed in a crisis situation, but you must not allow yourself to look at the waves surrounding the boat. Just get out of the boat and walk towards Him.

Are you sure about that? I’m assuming you don’t have a lease. If you do - read it. If not, do some Google searching on state and local laws to see what your rights are.
We recently decided to take him up on the rent to own. My sons had recently found jobs after a long unemployment and we were getting our finances straight when he sold the farm.
As to why I posted it, I am beside myself with stress, don’t know what to do, and had come here for support and possibly suggestions we hadn’t considered.
Prayers sent.
Prayers for you.
I pray for you too.
But The Dawg is right.
There are laws about putting kids out in the cold.
I am not one to encourage people to engage in frivolous lawsuits - but this is not frivolous. If you don’t have the $$$ for a lawyer, call the BAR or Legal Aid and they’ll f8ind you a Pro-Bono, or a young ‘un willing to take the case to make himself a name.
Praying for you.
Did you have a lease, or just rent month to month?
