You are correct; I was speaking strictly in terms of the criminal charges, but I do find it interesting that you assert, "The jury chose to ignore the facts and bowed to public pressure."

Given the power and influence of FSU, is there not also at least a slim chance the Winston DA may have done the same thing as the Simpson jury?

Slim chance yes….maybe even more than slim - but you’ve already assumed that is the case and are insisting Winston should not accept the award…….

Proportionality dude.

In the case of Willie Meggs, the answer is clearly No. Meggs rose to police sergeant before going to law school, and has been the State Attorney (Florida-speak for DA) since 1985. Meggs takes a very hard line with FSU athletes who transgress the law. Among the high-profile Seminole football players he has prosecuted are Greg Dent, Darnell Dockett, Travis Johnson, Laverneous Coles and Peter Warrick. Notably, Meggs' handling of this case has the full confidence of the Florida Council Against Sexual Violence. Sometimes, there's just no "there" there.
