Clinching Second-Term Victory, Christie Urges Washington to Look to New Jersey

Asbury Park, N.J. — Signed, sealed, delivered.

A triumphant Chris Christie took the stage to the Stevie Wonder classic on Tuesday night after trouncing his opponent by over 20 points and propelling himself to the front of the GOP’s 2016 presidential pack.

Though the 51-year-old governor addressed himself to New Jerseyans, his message was clearly aimed at Republicans across the country. Choose leaders, not lecturers; be willing to compromise; stop insisting on ideological purity, he counseled. “We stand here tonight showing that it is possible to put doing your job first, to put working together first, to stand by your principles yet get something done for the people who elected you,” the governor told the crowd gathered in Asbury Park.

Not known for his subtlety, Christie offered a more than a hint at his political future, inviting Washington to look to New Jersey as a model of good governance and a place where Republicans and Democrats have managed to come together to get things done. ”If we can do this in Trenton, maybe the folks in Washington, D.C., should tune in,” Christie said, to cheers. “Tonight, a dispirited America looks to New Jersey to say, ‘Is what I think is happening really happening?’”

> “Choose leaders, not ***lecturers***;

So lectured the porky one.

> ...”be willing to compromise;

Yes, reach across the aisle, turn around, bend over and wait for the ‘compromise’.

> ...”stop insisting on ideological purity, he counseled.

Yes, just surrender and be adored by the democrat media and the republican establishment, like the ‘hero’ McScumbag.

> “We stand here tonight showing that it is possible to put doing your job first, ...”

Which is to get elected in a blue state promoting a liberal agenda. Bloomberg was a republican until it was no longer necessary and Christie is the same. When Christie finds it expedient to defect to the democrats, he will.

> “... to put working together first,

Yes, work together to promote the leftist agenda.

> “... to stand by your principles...”

Yes, push gun control, expand abortion to late term, support the homosexual agenda and espouse the dangers of global warming.

> “... yet get something done for the people who elected you,”

Which includes taking money from an evil narcissist in exchange for bolstering the same evil narcissist’s reelection.

Just once I’d like to hear someone tell Democrats “be willing to compromise!”

“...to get things done.” Or as Obama says “get stuff done.” That’s the expression that always means trouble. It’s WHAT you want to get done that’s the problem. That’s why there’s (supposedly) an opposition - to stop the bad “stuff” from getting done. The less “stuff” that gets done, the better off we all are.

"Just another RINO that can be puffed up now, only to be filleted by the Left later (McCain-like)."

Spot on, Cincy.

Remember that little tidbit from the Bobsy twins new book?

About how Christie refused to answer some questions on Romney's VP vetting questionnaire?

You can bet the RATS already have the skeleton(s) on ice, ready to drop the bomb about 2 weeks before the election.

Can somebody ping me when there’s an intelligent comment on NJ and VA?

OBVIOUSLY, Crispy Creme can’t win the GOP nomination, and, if he does, OBVIOUSLY HRC will bury him.

But just as obviously, those 6% of VA voters who couldn’t pull the lever for Cuccinelli are up for grabs. Can we, should we, grab ‘em?

What are "illegal's"? Are they anything like illegals?

Whoever put that graphic together needs to learn English.

Why that's an excellent question, and one which will never be answered by the FReepers who love to bash NJ - but who also like to pretend that liberal VA is somehow more conservative than NJ because it is south of the magical Mason Dixon line.

Here's the problem: NJ is a net contributor of almost $7000 per capita in taxes to the federal government while VA is a net beneficiary of the federal government to the tune of more than $6000 per capita.

As certain states and regions become increasingly parasitic, it becomes more difficult to throw the bums out when the voters themselves are bums.

Our take is the demodummies want Christe to go for pres so they can run him agains’t Hitlary, their potential candidate whom they think will beat Christe. Someone they can beat will be pushed into the GOP limelight by the demodummies, it worked with Romney as well.

Compromise sounds real good.

You got the left wing extremist on one side and the right wing extremist on the other.

We need to compromise, somewhere in the middle.

Let’s come up with a cute new name for this compromise, something to attract the uneducated and youth looking for something “New”.

National Socialism is so 1930’s Germany.

How about we call it “The Third Way”.

Christie is the Romney-style candidate, certainly.

Cruz is the most likely conservative.

The problem is that the media is working hard already to establish narratives around both that will be hard to overcome in the primaries.

Seems I was mistaken, NJ voted for Republican legislators but gerrymandering ensured that the rats kept power.

Agreed, but if I start correcting spelling/grammar errors as I spot them around the web, I would finish in ‘The Year 3 Zillion.’

Since you noticed the grammar error, I got OCD and fixed it.

I figure we'll be using this image frequently enough thru 2016 to keep Fat Bastard at Pizza Hut where he belongs.
