Hume: "Maybe the president knew this. Maybe he didn’t. Maybe he simply didn’t care.”
Daily Caller ^ | October 28, 2913 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 10/29/2013 1:28:02 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

.....[BIG snip].....

.....“But what about President Obama’s explicit promise that if you like your insurance you can keep it?” [Hume] continued. “He later amended that to the government is not going to make you change plans. But that’s not true either because the government has made many lower cost plans illegal. Emanuel and others argue such plans were a rip-off and people should have better ones. But better in whose opinion? Why the government’s of course. And never mind the president’s repeated promise it would never come to this. A promise the very design of Obamacare made impossible to keep. Maybe the president knew this. Maybe he didn’t. Maybe he simply didn’t care.”

“Special Report” anchor Bret Baier asked Hume if it were a possibility Obama may very well have been out of the loop. Hume said that was possible but it would mean a president praised as a person who pays attention to detail was extremely disengaged.

“It’s conceivable to me he could be out of the loop on any one of them,” Hume replied. “But it’s hard to believe he wouldn’t have known about any of them — any of these ones they said he didn’t know about. You know, we’ve been given to believe this is a very bright, very curious man who cares about policy details, grasps without difficulty and asks very good questions. The picture that emerges from the array of things he was not in the loop on was a more disengaged president who is leaving it all to others, in which case it’s imperative you pick good others. It’s questionable whether he has.”

“And, I still wonder if - at the risk of sounding like a tinfoil hat type - the ultimate goal is to push through single payer.”

***

You're not crazy. Single payer has been the intent all along. Already, it's being discussed as the solution to the Obamacare woes. And the same suckers who fell for the promises of Obamacare are falling for this scheme too.

"......................Overall, according to the report, about 1.3 million uninsured young adults qualify for bronze plans on the exchanges that will cost $50 or less per month after tax credits. A total of 1.9 million might be able to pay $100 or less per month, while 1 million more could qualify for Medicaid, the report said.

In his interview at the White House, Obama said that young adults should get covered even if they felt like they didn't need insurance. He said that he had broken his nose playing basketball during his late 20s or early 30s, despite a sense of "invincibility."

“There were times when I had unexpected illnesses or accidents,” he said. “This is a good investment for young people and you know when you look at the number of who actually want health insurance, but are having trouble affording it, that fact we are making it affordable for them … [is] a big deal.”......................

President calls ObamaCare coverage a ‘good investment for young people’

Posts on FReerepublic must make the control freaks at the white house heads explode. If Obama thought he could get away with it he’d have every one of us arrested and exterminated.

That’s exactly the type of tyrant he wants to be. He and his communist democrats must be defeated at all cost.

Perhaps:

A “tax” isn’t an investment. This man is about as stupid as they come.

Jason Howerton, The Blaze - October 29,2013:

"NBC News’ Bombshell Obamacare Report Disappears Due to ‘Publishing Glitch’ – and There Was Something Missing From Republished Version"

"..................NBC News is claiming that a “publishing glitch” caused its bombshell investigative report on Obamacare to disappear for a period of time. The news outlet has since republished the scathing article, however, a key paragraph was temporarily removed — and no editor’s note explaining why was included.

The article in question revealed that the Obama administration knew at least three years ago that millions of Americans would not be able to keep their health insurance under Obamacare. But that didn’t stop President Barack Obama and other administration officials from promising the opposite, the report suggests.

At some point Tuesday night, the link to the story started directing readers to a “Error 404; page:.....

As if the mysterious “glitch” wasn’t strange enough, NBC News — inadvertently or not — later republished the article without the following key paragraph:

None of this should come as a shock to the Obama administration. The law states that policies in effect as of March 23, 2010 will be “grandfathered,” meaning consumers can keep those policies even though they don’t meet requirements of the new health care law. But the Department of Health and Human Services then wrote regulations that narrowed that provision, by saying that if any part of a policy was significantly changed since that date — the deductible, co-pay, or benefits, for example — the policy would not be grandfathered.

It was added back in to the article roughly 30 minutes after it was republished, but the discrepancy was again not noted in the article.

The website Weasel Zippers was able to screengrab both versions, before and after the “glitch.”......... Full article

Obama and his administration believe (counting on) a huge number of Americans are “about as stupid as they come.”

You know, we've been given to believe this is a very bright, very curious man who cares about policy details, grasps without difficulty and asks very good questions.

Well, your naive credulity is your problem. Based on observation and listening, my conclusion differs. Obama is not bright, he is a BS artist, propped up to THINK he is bright, by people around him.

No official figures yet, but I’m betting not many young people are signing up. Why should they? There is no incentive to do so. Many will be covered under their parents’ insurance. Others can’t find work, so they will be on Medicaid or not buying insurance at all. Without the young people contributing to this Ponzi scheme, you can expect Obamacare to collapse on its own. However, with all the dissatisfaction with the consequences of Obamacare now, you can expect it to be replaced by single payer sooner rather than later.

Single payer was the goal all along. No way this mess is the result of incompetence.

They're holding those numbers back until the end of the year (or the start of 2014).

I think its more like 52% of the public now, and I know how you feel about the country leaving you. I heard Rush talking the other day about feeling like the Communists gained control. It’s hard to stay positive sometimes. Ted Cruz makes me feel like I did when Reagan was President.

What I see from afar, Cruz seems to be the only one that is worth spit. It is truly “fish or cut bait” for America.
Judging by the demographics, it looks like a hard up-hill battle.

2003: “ Sen. Zell Miller doesn’t have many bridges to today’s Democratic Party left to burn.

Whatever bridges remain are crumbling as the party’s national leaders — specifically, its nine candidates for president — read the Georgia Democrat’s blunt and often-scathing new book, “A National Party No More: The Conscience of a Conservative Democrat.”......

[SNIP]

......Unlike many Democrats-turned-Republicans who say the Democratic Party left them, Mr. Miller said in the interview that he sees it as his party having been invaded by squatters.

“I compare it to living in this old house, where I have lived all of my life,” he said, “where it’s drafty and hard to heat, the plumbing won’t work, the commodes won’t flush, and some strangers have moved in down there in my basement and I don’t know who they are and I don’t know how to get them out.

“But I haven’t got long to live here, and it’s home, it’s always been home and I have a lot of bittersweet memories of it.

“I know that’s hard to understand … but it makes sense to me, and it makes sense to my family, and it makes sense to my neighbors, and that’s all that really matters.”...........

_____________________________________

Would Zell Miller leave the Democrat Party today? Will other democrats?

Those quotes only show the administration as control freaks when it comes to media image, not government policy. If they’re spending that much time in the echo chambers of twitter and television, it’s no wonder they have little idea what goes on in the bowels of the bureaucracy. They have always cared little about the substance of what they promise, as long as the surface looks good.
