On Friday Illinois congressman Adam Kinzinger continued the seemingly endless line of attack from establishment Republicans against Texas Senator Ted Cruz over the effort to defund Obamacare that resulted in a 16 day partial shutdown of 17 percent of the federal government.
Kinzinger had the following to say to Buzzfeed:
“I don’t think there’s any question [it’s worse]. I could have written this story from day one. If you follow the Cruz plan, you end up exactly where we are,” Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger told BuzzFeed. “I think it’s obvious that we had a really grown up plan on how to deal with this, we had some in our party who rejected that, and we had to go along with [the Cruz] plan.”
Asked if unhappiness with Cruz is widespread in the conference, Kizinger said, “Sure yeah, absolutely. I think we all feel the same.”

We know all about the “grown up” plans of the GOPe. It’s called caving 101.
This will be an interesting primary to watch, since Palin and many tea party groups endorsed Kinzinger, but he’s moved to the left since the day he hit DC. Don Manzullo wasn’t as flashy, but his loyalty could be counted upon.

This continued stupidity on the part of Republicans is jaw-dropping. The corrosive attacks on Republicans who poke their heads up and draw attention to such disasters as Obamacare are eroding public opinion and reducing the number of Republican voters. They were given a gift in the form of Tea Party people who would have voted for them and helped counter the growth in Dem rolls from the young socialist OWS-types.
Instead, the R party believes it can succeed on just the money of some large donors. Those donors will be harder to attract as the R party continues to shrink its size.
The failure of Obamacare’s rollout is a golden opportunity for the R party. The Tea Party supporters are a windfall gift to the R party. Social media and new outlets for information are new pathways around the Dem party propaganda machine. And, what does the R party do? It fails to take advantage of each gift. You cannot ignore these opportunities and expect to perform well—in the face of the vicious opposition Dem party, you cannot suffer such idiotic mistakes even once.
This might be a little more than a normal layoff in the private sector. And the government is loaded with deadwood. Sheesh.
In Washingtonese, that is known as “Growing into the Job”.
