A Pennsylvania woman set out with a video camera to learn what college students in her state know about the Holocaust and discovered an incredible lack of knowledge not only of the genocide of the Jews, but of basic facts about U.S. history and World War II.
Rhonda Fink-Whitman visited college campuses in Pennsylvania this fall, including the venerated Ivy League institution the University of Pennsylvania, where she was repeatedly faced with a remarkable ignorance about events that took place in the last century.
Students didnt know where Normandy was, why U.S. forces landed there, why the U.S. even entered the war or who was president at the time. (Wilson, Eisenhower and JFK were among the guesses.) One student didnt know who Anne Frank was, because he said he never read the book.

I bet they could ace a test on how to get a free abortion or why Alternative Gender Studies is a necessary course for today’s students.
Yet conservatives are considered to be ignorant and uneducated.
Most or all of those kids went to public school. People who care for their children as other than fashion accessories will keep them out of public school. There are no exceptions to that, not any more.

Any detailed study of Nazi Germany would destroy the progressive propaganda.

Now, mind you, I have absolutely nothing to back up any of this -- but I'm not sure that matters ... I mean, I voted for Obama, so, like, obviously I'm really smart, and really a good person, so ...
Ignorance comes from government education.
I have 8 grandchildren and they are all homeschooled.
They know history, music, mathematics, science, geography, languages and good manners.

Idiocracy isnt a thing of the future or of movies, its here today.
As one of the comments noted it could happen again, here. Its quite believable too.
They don’t teach history or geography anymore. It is a watered down sociology and demographics class that talk about how much other cultures have contributed to the earth while glossing over America.
Yeah...nice try, but you only used the word “like” one time.
And the sad thing is their teachers would not do any better.
So it doesn't surprise me that they avoid teaching it now.
I wonder if Fink-Whitman sees abortion as genocide...would be interesting to note since shes all about educating us and future generations so we can’t let denial creep in.
“Parents who send their children to government schools are diminishing their knowledge of the world”
but but but they are more worldly: they know the maximum sensitivity condom available, where and how to find cheap or inexpensive birth control pills, believe fag sex is OK, speak of affirmative action as a good thing, believe Marxism is either a great economic system or developed by the Marx brothers, and know there is no God because they cannot see him.
The problem with videos like this is you have no idea just how many people she asked who knew the right answer. Were the historical morons the exception or the rule?
