I just grabbed an image from the web for the below, but yesterday I saw one of these wading near shore about two miles from the house.
With a 185 cm wingspan, the Gray Heron is a large bird. I see them quite often; for whatever reason, they're completely unfazed by nearby marine/industrial activity.
