I think James Burke of “Connections” fame would agree.

John W. Campbell, Jr. was more enamored of the horse collar. It was the enabling technology for truly effective use of the plough...

“It’s unpleasantly like being drunk.”

“What’s unpleasant about being drunk?”

“Ask a glass of water.”

When I brushed our Newfoundland, I had enough to make about eleven Labrador Retriever puppies.

LOL! Brushing Piper the Furricane is like that, too. After an hour, there’s enough fluff for a couple of Maltese and three Shih-Tzu.

Yesterday, after my aide left, I took off for Vegas. I pulled into the driveway and shut the engine off, and Busdaddy replaced the wiper blades for me. I went to turn the engine on so I could test the wipers while washing my filthy, no-see-thru windshield, and the engine wouldn’t start. No cranking over, no click of battery, nothing but the idiot lights.

Well, poop. That wasn’t what I expected. So I just left it until this morning and it started right up. He also put air in all the tires, and I was amazed on my way home, how well the front-end handled.

He told me to be sure and try to start the truck again shortly after I shut it off to see if it would repeat yesterday’s lack of performance, and it started right up. Go figure.

Now, however, I’m thinking it may need a new starter, after all is said and done. I will monitor it closely over the weekend and call Jesse on Monday.

Talk about unpleasant surprises!

I’m going to drop the girls off at a birthday party in a little while, and then I’m going to get my nails done.

No click, no nuthin’ but an idiot light is probably starter solenoid, ignition switch or loose battery connection.

I had a Peugeot that wouldn’t start if you turned the key all the way to the end. If you held it back from the end by a few degrees it would start just fine.

The switch disconnected the ignition at the very end of the crank position. Crank crank crank nothing. Give up and it would try to catch as you backed off!

Could you get my nails done, while you’re at it? I need a hand massage something fierce. I think it will help the neuropathy...

Hmmm....A solenoid was thought of, but not the ignition switch. Don’t know about the battery connection. The battery is good, and I don’t have a Haines Manual for the truck to even check it out.

I need to find one...

Just see if you can wiggle the cables. They should be tight enough that you can’t.

The battery cables? Tight. Busdaddy checked them yesterday, when the truck wouldn’t start.

That’s another one that Bryan found for me. I used it on the FReepathon.

He’s always sending me graphics and interesting photos, mostly landscapes and points of interest here and in foreign countries.

Hey Face! Not even a clicking? That sounds like the shifter switch didn’t sense the car’s in “Park.” If it does it again, shift from Park to Neutral and back and see if that helps...It should also turn over in Neutral.

Safety Feature. It doesn’t sound like a starter to me, but it’s possible.

I’ve seen it before, (probably on the FReepathon!) but I always have to do a double-take when I see it! Happy stuff!

Then it needs to be in “Neutral.” There is a switch that senses that, shifter may need jiggled. If you are not even getting a click, it makes me suspicious of that. It may also require you to push the brake down when starting as well. Should be in the Owner’s Manual.

(It’s ironic you may need to treat the shifter like a toilet handle to get it to work... :^\)
