Pretty good, actually, other than being completely wiped out from the last few days at work.

I was the lucky soul in charge of planning and executing the shutdown for our field office. I was trying to walk out the door yesterday after my maximum four hour stay for shutdown and the questions were still coming in. I had to walk away with my phone ringing and my email beeping, and I was forbidden to touch either one once my furlough time kicked in. Maddening.

We have exactly three people in our 30-person office who were deemed “exempt”. All three are managers and have absolutely no idea how the day-to-day stuff gets done. Fortunately there won’t be much of it, since everybody who creates day-to-day stuff is sitting at home.

Seem to remember (not too long ago) a thread that mentioned facebooed. Did I get that right? Me says I is correct but me sometimes becomes confused and says unplug me ... unplug me. It is the way of me!

Boy! Do I ever empathize! I had to trade chairs at the place I’m house-sitting as the one from the bedroom had been moved to the living room. While it is “comfortable,” it is not nearly as easy on my back as the rattan chair is.

I only have three more nights to stay there, and then I will be home, for good. Until the next time I decamp!

The Late Igor used to say, “A change is as good as a rest,” and I guess that’s true, because my little apartment looks really good today! LOL!
