Oh my.
I found a Korean show where the main character, from episode 3 onwards, bears a striking resemblance to the guy who played Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies.... even his expressions are dead on.
An asian Ron Weasley. Not a redhead though, I guess those are rare in Korea.

"Canapes."
- Printing Canapes On the 3D Printer
We've had a team working on modifying standard ink-jet printers to be food printers, for quite some time. The concept is simple. Execution remains a work in process.
Essentially, the various ink bins are replaced with bins or supply tubes carrying more edible food ingredients; sugar, salt, flour, water, and so forth. Some components are relatively easy to move through the narrow channels, and some require a bit of coaxing. Cheese and chocolate, as well as peanut butter, for example, may need to be kept warm or put under pressure in order to flow properly.
That said, the next part is easy in concept: Eject very small amounts of the various components in an orderly pattern, just as a standard printer would do, but then use a Z-axis movement to enable a second, third, and so forth, layer to be added on top of that which has been already deposited.
The process works a little faster than might be expected, but it still takes a few minutes even for a simple cookie or pastry.
One of the complicating factors is the need to add a heat component to the print head, which is designed to emit infrared light onto the flour and water components deposited to cook them in situ. This requires much in the way of modification, fabrication, and programming skills. As mentioned, a work in progress.

Jeepers. I go to bed early because of asthma, and come back to find food being printed, PEX hoses being enlarged and dogs barking at trains.
Remind me not to absent myself for so long in the future. I missed SO much!

The problem with using 3D printers as food printers is that the preparation time and cleanup time make the labor-saving of having a machine to do it become a bad investment. Much easier, generally, to simply make the food oneself.
However, for this particular aspect, it might be reasonable to look into having a robot in the kitchen.

DarkFAX me some brownies, OK? I’m dying to know if they are as good as they sound!
I need to go get some aloe vera juice and some tea, but at the moment, I’m afraid to try...I need to wait till it’s light out and then go wiggle some wires.
