Aren’t there any capable people for the homeowner to hire?

Something like that. Maybe even more embarrassing (if possible).

"The plumbers are here flexing their PEX."

Nice turn of phrase. It demonstrates "devastating excellence of vocabulary", a phrase I picked up from a story titled "The Mailman Cometh", in the February 1965 Analog science fiction magazine.

I remember things I like.

You can hear Knuckles barking at a train in the distance for no apparent reason. You can’t see anything though.

I’m not sure which of us is enjoying it more, lol.

Love it....

Do we have a door that leads to a forest?

Sounds In The Night

We hear sounds in the night of work being done,
By toilers and strugglers deprived of our sun.
It is only our comfort that compels them to hide,
As we with our loved ones and treasures abide.

In darkness they toil to repair our worn roads,
Inexorable time limits act as their goads,
They sweat and curse softly the task made so vile,
By shadow enduring the whole of the while.

Deprived of the sun for the task they perform,
In making the broken things newly conform,
To a sullen onrushing of scurrilous knaves,
Turned out of their beds as if out of their graves.

The zombies of daylight come stumbling out,
As night-working elves shrink well back from the rout,
Too soon they’ll return to assess once again,
The damages done by the legions of men.

Sisyphean tasks will await the next night,
Yet they willingly come back again to the fight,
Be blessed, oh ye workers and toilers unseen,
By the sunned-upon creatures of colorful scene.

Let children’s cries and birdsong be,
The lullaby of slumber free,
From dark concerns and matters best,
Attended to after proper rest.

Hi Cold One. It seems cold unusually early around here this year. It may be a bad winter. Even the caterpillars are massive.

"Do we have a door that leads to a forest?"

Yes. Go straight out the main door of the Castle, through the courtyard, though the gate and across the drawbridge. Ignore any activity in the moat and continue straight ahead until you are among the trees we brought with us.

Notice that the newer growth of the last few years has a different orientation as to what constitutes "up". It's subtle, but observable, particularly in the fore-and-aft direction.

Thanks Bob!

The concepts of up and down have been big around here lately.

Uh-PA! I’ll watch for that.

Does the castle have a 3D printer?

"Does the castle have a 3D printer?"

I'm hesitant to say, definitively. DC's "associates" are very capable craftmen, uh, crafters, and can make a lot of very intricately designed devices. Among other things, they could obviously make a 3D printer.

What did you want to make?
