I refuse to join Obama care....and refuse to pay the penalty. Although, sometimes I get the deductions wrong and get a small irs refund...

It is my understanding if the penalty isn’t paid (heck, I don’t plan to file any of those forms) then no refund will be issued. Other than that, the penalty is not enforceable.

If ever there was a time for civil disobedience, this is it!

When millions refuse to buy into Obama’s Bogus Healthcare Plan, it will die a’borning.

My plan is to pay the penalty and to continue to pressure my representatives to scrap the whole thing.

We’re looking into Christian medical sharing ministries like Medi-share. They have a religious exemption similar to the Amish, but you don’t have to give up your computer.
They’re legal under Obamacare, but the three organizations that do this put in a caveat that it is only allowed for the groups formed before 2000 - so no new ones can form.

I'm barely working so I can't afford Obamacare or any other care. If I get sick or injured I'm screwed.

I'm so desperate I'm looking at government work. I think they're the only ones hiring.

I’ve been planning it all along. I’m not filing the IRS form for it either. I think it has gone to court whether they can penalize you if you live in a State with no exchange but it is my intention whatever the outcome.

Is anyone thinking about leaving the country? I am but I don’t know how to go about it. I’m thinking about Mexico or somewhere in Central America. Panama or El Salvador.

Self pay, not insurance ping. Limbaugh says if you need a procedure, negotiate the hospital's "wish list" price down by self paying with cash. See this story: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887324139404579017113415486176.html?mod=WSJ_Opinion_LEADTop He underwent his operation the very next day, with a total bill of just a little over $3,000, including doctor and hospital fees. He ended up saving $17,000 by not using insurance

First learn how to find alternative cures from natural products. I have been self diagnose for years, and find the natural cures which work just as well or better than drugs, without side effects. Diet is a big part of that too.

It’s too soon for me to say since we are both on Medicare. I have a supplement policy with an “in house” insurance. I feel so bad for my young friend whose husband is a farm worker who earns $8 hr. and they have no insurance and can’t get medicaid because he works. She says they will be worse off with obamacare (they can’t afford), and they are thinking of just paying the fine and continue with no insurance. Sad.

In the march towards the actual goal of obamaumaocare— the govt. as singler payor and purveyor of care (and keeper of medical and personal details and... our rights)-— the elimination of private insurance companies is the first step.
This is done by... forcing citizens to buy insurance by mandate, and/or their employers. The premium rates that will ensue in either situation, because of required coverage under federal laws.. those rates will become astronomical.

Optioning for the “fine” also prevents the premiums from being paid to private insurers... who then will go out of business. Within 3 years there will only be a single payor, and our govt. thinks it can MAKE us accept that insurance in total and the absolute crap care that will result. Doctors, even new ones, are bailing. “Calling Dr. Bombay” or Chief Arulu.

Defunding the implementation is the only way to stop this.
RINOs want their corporate buddies to cost shift this final labor cost.. onto the public. Only , it will not work. It will impode.

My wife & I have BC/BS individual high deductible policies that BC informs us are grandfathered in.

I got a real bullsh1t brochure last week from BC, telling me all the great stuff I will now get, telling me I get to keep my current policy, telling me that all I had to do to keep it and these new wonderful benefits is to keep paying my premiums. Oops, no mention of how much higher the premiums will be in January when we renew. Methinks I will not be able to afford them. May as well pay those fascists their pound of flesh.

I refuse to drain what little I have in retirement savings to pay insurance premiums that the government is directly responsible for making unaffordable. I can say no more & still expect my comments to post.

I'm figuring it will take about a month for some union thug who lost his insurance and is now part time to lose a loved one due to lack of insurance that he had before Obama. Such an individual will purchase a .50 cal Barrett and take out some ObamaCare official at 3000 feet.

After such attack, they will rethink the whole thing and privatize it. The union thug will have 2.5 million views on Youtube right behind ObamaPhone.

The IRS will not have the authority to “fine” you. All they can do is keep your refund. So, claim how ever many dependents it takes so that you always owe the IRS a little each year. Don’t give them a refund to keep.

I’m with you!

What can we the people do to combat Obamacare? Is there a way we can gather together and form a force against Obamacare?

There are plenty of articles online urging conservatives to reject Obamacare and not buy health insurance. How much do you want to bet that most of the authors of those articles are working for large corporations and get health insurance through their employer? They have no skin in the game.

That’s why I get so upset when I see people here also urging others to skip buying health insurance. You are risking your health. You are risking financial ruin for your family. It’s a fine principle you’re fighting for, but is this the best way to achieve results?

OneVike, you state that your wife’s healthcare is your number one priority. In order to take care of her, you have to first take care of yourself! That means making your own health a top priority. If there are no acceptable substitutes for the medications you require, then you do whatever is necessary to take the medications necessary for your own health. And you don’t cross your fingers and pray to God that you won’t need insurance!

My sister and brother-in-law retired a couple of years, both in seemingly good health. They continued my sister’s health insurance through COBRA. Since then, it became necessary for my sister to have two hip replacements (at age 62!) and my brother-in-law was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Fortunately health insurance kept them from using up their retirement nest egg. Now COBRA has expired and they can only buy health insurance through a special insurance pool their state offers. I can’t imagine how their lives would have been impacted without health insurance!

And, if you’re young and healthy, you won’t need it? Tell that to my youngest sister who, in her 30s, developed Lupus.

Buying health insurance is the responsible thing to do. My very conservative parents brought me up to be responsible. I’m not going to get sick and be a burden on others! I’m going to take care of my health so that I’m there for my husband.

By the way, some of the articles suggest that you wait until you’re sick to buy insurance. They conveniently omit the fact that you’ll have to wait until the open enrollment period. Great. Let’s just ignore that growing lump until you can buy insurance. Maybe it won’t be cancerous.

And for praying to God for your health? I’m a firm believer in prayer. It’s through God’s blessings that so many medical discoveries have been made. It just reminds me of the story of the man and the flood. The water is rising around his house and a boat comes by. The man in the boat urges the Christian to hop in. No, the Christian says. God will save me. Later a police boat approaches. Hop in, they say. No, he says. God will save me. The Christian ends up on his roof with the flood waters swirling around. A helicopter approaches. Grab the lifeline! No, he says. God will save me. Well, the Christian drowns and goes to heaven where he asks God Why didn’t you save me? And God replied, I sent two boats and a helicopter! So yes, pray to God, but use the good sense he gave you and be responsible!

So yes, buy health insurance. If Obama wasn’t dictating that you do it, you would probably be doing it on your own since conservatives are raised to be responsible adults and not a drain to themselves or others. Find another way to fight Obamacare. Write your congressman. Organize protests. Whatever. And if you keep yourself healthy, you’ll be doing your family a huge favor and you’ll be here to vote for good conservative representatives.

By the way, be informed. The health care exchanges come online in October. Do yourself a favor and check out what is available. It isn’t going to cost you anything to just get educated. Maybe the insurance will be too expensive. I don’t know. But I do know that there are subsidies available. Make a decision base on knowledge and what is best for your family.
