Teen jailed for sarcastic remark beaten up in jail, now on suicide watch

Grisly new details emerged in the story of the ongoing imprisonment of Justin Carter, who racked up months in jail for making sarcastic, violent threats after playing an online video game.

Carter has been beaten up multiple times while in jail in Comal County, Texas, according to NPR. He is now on suicide watch.

“This was his first incarceration, his first charge, and without getting into the really nasty details, he has had concussions, he has had black eyes,” said Jack Carter, Justin’s father, in a statement.

Carter is one of two teenagers imprisoned for months for the crime of making off-color, threatening comments over the internet in response to a video game. Josh Pillault has been imprisoned for even longer–since last October. He recently pled guilty to the charges against him out of fear that fighting them would result in a lengthier sentence.

The stupid kid threatened to go to his local school, shoot up the students, and eat their hearts. Not saying he should be sent to prison while he’s waiting for his trial, but that was a REALLY stupid thing to say.

It’s well-known what he said. But the truth tempers this article too much.

“Collecting Revenue for the Welfare State from innocent citizens attempting to go about their day.”

In my state, you generally have the option of jail/work for a day or so or or paying a fine for speeding-type tickets.

I’ve opted for “jail” probably 20 times over the last 20 years. They go ballistic, in that it costs the county money, instead of making money.

Every time, in many counties, I just show up on my “jail” day, sign a piece of paper saying I showed up and then I’m on my way.

I am also a very tall and strong man (former NFL player), so the risk I run of problems is 0% if they did actually put in in the tank for a day.

Two months after the Sandy Hook massacre, this is what this boy wrote:

“I think Ima shoot up a kindergarten / And watch the blood of the innocent rain down/ And eat the beating heart of one of them.” ( http://www.businessinsider.com/teen-justin-carter-faces-trial-and-jail-for-facebook-comment-2013-7 )

According to a different news source, this is what he said:

“I’m going to go shoot up a school full of kids and eat their still beating hearts jk lol.” ( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2356244/Justin-Carter-Father-says-teen-jailed-online-comment-shooting-school-suicide-watch.html )

Yeah left out part of it. he added LOL and just kidding at the end of the statement.

Question Should comedians who say such things on stage be arrested and thrown in jail for such?

When did it become OK to punish thought crimes?

This is where zero tolerance laws/rules lead.

The feds are the force behind this. It ain’t rocket science.

Half million bail for a 19 YO kid and a SPEECH crime? Bull.

This is just a little warning from Janet and her bunch of jackbooted Brownshirts that the trouble makers in this country better keep their damn mouths shut. Keep your head down and your opinions to yourself, hope that Big Sis’s (Sauron?) eye passes over you and singles out someone else.

It’s called fear and intimidation. And it works.

“I think Ima shoot up a kindergarten”

And for that, he (a teen with no prors) is sent to a prison to mix with the general population, get beaten (tortured), raped, and is on suicide watch.

How about all the people posting threats about the Zimmerman trial. They get the “black pass” I guess

I certainly hope that the so-called ‘Texan’ judge never has a good night’s sleep for the rest of his craven life. A few serious beatings in the street wouldn’t go amiss either.

A public horse-whipping would be best, but who can expect justice from today’s courts?

Are you suggesting the 0dunga Regime lacks the tentacles to influence this case or other States'-Authority issues?

Are you saying that Texas law enforcement and Texas judges jump to do Obama's bidding?

And how did they track down the kid?

They read his Facebook site. Real hard.

In some cases, YES. Or is that just...."too kooky" a possibility?

The feds are the force behind this. It ain’t rocket science.

Then why did they have to go through the Texas authorities? Why didn't the FBI swoop down and drag him off to Federal prison?

In this case, yeah. It's another instance of local authorities going off the deep end.
