Absolutely true and next week is the worst time for animals at a high kill shelter. Because of the fireworks next week there will be an extreme shortage of space as pets will undoubtedly get loose and picked up by animal control. To make up for this, shelters will kill animals deemed not adoptable.

Hopefully a more responsible family will rescue the dog.

How sad...but just in time to push me over the edge of deciding to adopt “Buford” from a MI rescue organization. I’ve been communicating with them, but for some reason I have still been hesitating.

These heartless jerks are the ones that we are supposed to want to make citizens?

Haha! I don’t know how to post a pic, but you can see him at their FB page about half way down on the right. One of their descriptions to me was as follows:

“Buford is pretty clean in his kennel so he shouldn’t take much to house train. Can’t be certain on how he is in a house alone, but he is very laid back at the kennel. I call him Eeyore cause he is easy going, never in a hurry, lays around and just watches life go by.”

That is exactly what I am looking for! He is 3 and I wouldn’t even change his name.

Uh, oh, I better clarify for everyone. I’ve been discussing Buford with the rescue folks and we are working on them bringing them over for a visit. If all goes well, then he may be staying. However, I haven’t actually, officially adopted him yet.....

Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well and he should adopt me soon.

(I have completed the application and was approved, so all that is left is getting the intros done.)
