For example, I'll bet you the huge majority of Hillary supporters voted for Obama in the general election. But many conservatives don't do that. If their candidate loses, they pout and stay home.

Probably because conservatives have both standards and Principles, both of which the left doesn't have.

Principles aren't merely suggestions, they're a code that you live by, double that if you are a Christian.

Now I am assuming you are referring to Mitt Romney and John McCain.

On this you are wrong as well.

Romney wasn't even a real Republican, and for conservative Christians, Romney's stated support for Abortion just before the election (after lying about being Pro-Life at CPAC during the primaries) and his implementation of Gay Marriage while Governor (and lying about it), his support for Gays in the Military, and his support for Gay Adoption, and his support for Gays in the Boy Scouts means many social conservatives couldn't vote for him.

For some of us, it was more important to please God before being a pragmatist.

Oh, yes, I agree with you 100%. Conservatives vote for principles. Liberals vote for daydreams, and for pie-in-the-sky promises.

Again we agree. He was not a Republican and certainly not a conservative. But he was also not a race-card-playing socialist.
