Obama Administration Lying Again: Syrian Officials Deny Chemical Weapons Use
Guns 2 Jihadists ^ | John

Posted on 04/26/2013 9:07:44 AM PDT by JohnPDuncan

CBC out of Canada reports unnamed Syrian officials speaking to the Associated Press denying the use of chemical weapons against foreign jihadist 'rebels' within the country that seemed to surface yesterday and that were repeated by Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.

The report also quotes a Syrian lawmaker Sharif Shehadeh:

Shehadeh called the U.S. claims "lies" and likened them to false accusations that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction — a claim U.S. policymakers had used to justify the invasion of that country in 2003.

"What is being designed for Syria now is similar to what happened in Iraq when Colin Powell lied in the Security Council and said Iraq possesses weapons of mass destruction prior to the U.S. invasion and occupation of that country," he said.

Meanwhile Israeli officials are calling for the US to respond to the now debunked assertion that the Syrian regime used chemical weapons:

"I think the U.S., as the leader of the Western world, should lead the efforts with our partners in Europe and Israel and to take action with what we're seeing happening today in Syria," Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon told CNN.

The question remains why Israel is so eager to see the collapse of the Assad regime. Do they believe they can control whatever Muslim Brotherhood puppet replaces him? If so this is extremely naive thinking from our Israeli friends as it would no doubt signal the start of an even longer and more protracted civil war. Also the evidence from Egypt suggests that when the Muslim Brotherhood takes control they immediately persecute Christians, re-write laws along fundamentalist religious grounds and cause political and social unrest.

You already said you don’t need to respond.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/3012724/posts?page=158#158

In other words, not only do you not care about facts, you’ll strut around afterwards like a poodle that got its butt kicked while ignoring anything presented to you.

I never said I didn’t care about facts.

He’s asking me about different parts of what Taft stood for. i dont have to respond to this I think it’s pretty clear where I stand.

I’ve said time and again i dont like the idea of going to war unless there’s an explicit attack to respond to.

I think it’s obvious and pointless to get into the debate over whether this country had WMDs or not. i think not but others claim evidence to the contrary... it’s not really relevant to me as I’d still hold the same position even if Saddam had 30,000 nukes primed and ready to go

Yes, you are saying you don’t care about facts.

They’re not facts though are they? I could prduce reems of evidence to suggest he didnt have WMDs... a quick google search would bring up loads of articles on that.

Pointless and it wont change your mind and you wont change mine whether it was a good idea to go there or not.

Kinda hard to argue with a Sarin IED on or about 14 May 2004 buddy.

I’m not going to argue with it. I’m arguing that we shouldnt have even been there in 2004 and even if he had more than Sarin IEDs, even if he had nukes, I would not have supported an invasion.

That’s not shifting goalposts that’s just my principled, philosophical position

I can probably do the same to dispute these facts but i’m not going to go there as its pointless. I’m not going to change your mind!

You said ‘no WMD’ one shell is proof that he had them.
So will you admit he had them or not?

Yes I can plainly see you don’t want to be confused by facts, nor do you want to hear anyone else’s opinion. Your opinion is the only one that should matter- right?

I hope you are just young and dumb, but really you need to “talk less and listen more” because your lack of education is really showing. If you want to discuss issues with the grownups you need to do your homework. If you are past...say 30, then you are definitely a troll.

Might also want to take a look at the entry titled “WMD’s ?”
On DocRocks page.
And the info under it.

Yes, there was a link between Iraq and 9/11.
Our press summarily denied it becuase, drumroll, they have an agenda.
Amazing, isn’t it.
Look up Salman Pak terrorist training camp.

I’m not ready to go there yet Dark. I’ll look into it later.

I’m not even sure if Sarin is considered a WMD. I certainly wouldn’t consider it that bad. If we’re going to invade countries for having chemical weapons there would be a lot on the list!

Most of the press supported the iraq war so what was their agenda exactly?

The NYT and WaPo supported it!

I did not...

I was only a youngen then, still am probably considered by many... maybe i’m naive but my view is principled and based on philosophy and believe it or not there’s a lot of conservatives and Republicans who hold the same view so please dont call us names or belittle us.

We need to stick together even if we disagree.

I am past 30 and i’m definitely NOT a troll!

I really dont think it’s a good idea to try and change minds.. my goal is not to do this. I’m mostly defending myself against attacks calling me left wing LOL.

I hate the Federal government and leftists want to expand it so that is really a silly label to throw at me..

Shrug..

LOL, you truly believe that?
Do you still deny that chemical shells were found, some of which were used as IED’s?

Chemical weapons excuse will come in handy when the truth is out about Benghazi and arming the Syrian rebels.
