On his radio show this afternoon, Geraldo Rivera expressed shock at the fact that there exists several Newtown, Conn., families who do not support gun control efforts despite the deaths of 20 school children and 6 Sandy Hook Elementary School staffers.
As guest Ann Coulter mentioned to the host that there are Newtown families on both sides of the gun control issue, Rivera interrupted: “Is that true? I don’t know that to be a fact. Are you certifying that there are Newtown families not behind [Senate gun control measures]?”
“Oh, they’ve appeared on your station. On Fox,” Coulter said, likely referring to Megyn Kelly‘s interview with pro-gun Newtown father Mark Mattioli
“Well, that’s news to me,” Rivera responded.
He concluded: “I’m not saying that’s not true, but, that’s kind of weird.”

After today, the Newtown crowd’s 15 minutes are up. Police are questioning “a 20 year-old Saudi national here on a student visa”. I wonder if this is what Hanoi Boi was complaining about when he said foreigners don’t want to come to school here because those crazy Americans have guns and they’ll shoot you if they see you putting bombs in garbage cans.
Geraldo’s on WABC in NY 10 am to Rush. The show is a joke. He says he is a Republican and people call up say he’s a fraud. I wish they would bring back Steve Malzberg.
I used to think that liberals were naive or stupid. But I have come to understand that they pretend not to know in order to subvert the argument when the facts.go against them. ”The attack on Pearl Harbor? World War II? I haven’t heard anything about that.”
If they actually did their job and got ALL sides of the story, it would not be so surprising.
I have to agree with Whorealdo on this one. I’m shocked anyone intelligent enough to oppose total government domination still lives in a commie hell-hole like CT.
After today, reasonable, fairminded gun control advocates might consider revising their attitude of guns as the major source of violent evil.
Unfortunately we’re having to deal with the closeminded, provincial geraldos of America. Keep educating—some aren’t stupid, just ignorant.

Maybe to you Geraldo. To the rest of us, we see people of conviction who stand up for their rights, for all of our rights, even in the face of terrible cost.

Leftists are the perfect group/herd thinkers. Sometimes conservatives are the same. But Americans do much better than Europeans in rejecting the elite’s many self serving campaigns. Global warming comes to mind. The elite did their darnedest to get Americans to cut their own throats for Algore and it did not work.
Passing legislation which will in no way prevent other Newtown shootings from occurring, but will further erode our right to keep and bear arms, is destructive, stupid and insane.
There is no middle ground of agreement here. Nor is there with other leftist favorite causes.
