According to the solicitation (HSFLAR-13-Q-00019), DHS is ordering ammunition in .45 long Colts, .45 ACP, .22LR, 30-30, 12 gauge shotgun shells, 410 gauge shotgun shells, .357, and 7.69x39mm. Thats quite a spread for DHS.

Congress needs a full scale formal investigation to determine why DHS is purchasing all the ammunition.
What enemy is DHS preparing to war against?
Could it be the American people?

Id also like to know exactly what they are doing with it. Could they be destroying it?I wish they would do that with the illegal drugs across America. Great way to clean up the country.

I guess that might be a possibility, but I think it is to arm the Hood with the Panthers and others supporters.

Your warehouse picture may be a closer analogy than some might think.
Consider that not all ammo is US made.
Consider that a great deal of it is imported.
Consider that the ammo to be imported is in containers on docks.
Consider who controls the docks.

I think they are buying a little of everything.

"LI 003: 22 LONG RIFLE CCI GREEN TAG COMPETITION RIMFIRE AMMUNITION total rounds 40,000, 400, bx;"I'd guess that's about the same amount of 22LR ammo as in a single ammo shipment to a single WalMart.

.22-250 is pretty popular around here for varmint hunting.Folks shoot woodchucks out to 400 yards or so with that caliber.

Excuse my possible ignorance, but what firearm utilizes 7.69 x 39? I’m curious.

The fascist congress won’t investigate squat.

Ring-a-ding-ding. You win the Kewpie doll.
So, whatcha gonna do about it?
To: PilotDave
Remember the “Civilian National Security Force”? It’s for them.
Even our leviathan government will have a hard time arming 25 million irregulars of the Obama Revolutionary Youth Brigades without confiscating a lot of civilian weapons. Hopefully most of them will be out of ammo by the time they succeed.

They’re just piddling quantities. They could almost hit the local Wal-Mart for this stuff. Unless they’re setting a precedent for these calibers, with larger, more disruptive amounts to come.

“WTF? .30-30???”
I was wondering about the .45 Long Colt. Do they still have Rooster Cogburn on the payroll out there?

got three Russian Makarov automatics a few years back. They are packed in a box somewhere... not sure what type ammo they take. I wonder if I could get ammo for them? Bought them because they seemed really cheap at 75$ each. Had two clips that came along with each. 9x18 Makarov cartridge. It is a little smaller case than the 9mm Parabellum/Luger and a little larger than the .380 ACP. I am currently making some 9x18 Mak cases by trimming down 9mm Para cases. I cast my own slugs with a Lee 95 gr mould. I really like my East German Makarov.

Ruger Blackhawk.
Ruger Redhawk.
Colt whatever.
There are many high quality double and single action hand guns.
To: old curmudgeon
45 Long Colt? Yes, it is very suspicious because around 1895 the military quit using the SA Army Colt as did many of the law enforcement agencies.
To: PilotDave
They are buying the ammo to keep it from falling into the right hands.
