The U.S. mass media is a greater enemy to the American people than any foreign nation or group.

A bigger problem is the half of the population that believes the MSM without bothering to check them out.

Not a huge Coulter fan, but this is exactly what many of have been saying for a while now.

People are ascribing all these mythical powers to Obama, his campaign prowess, and the brilliancy of Democrats, when in point of clear evidentiary fact, the corrupt MSM have been doing all the heavy lifting so Democrats simply have to be breathing and then win.

We need recognize and fully understand that the power of the corrupt MSM is a direct and immenent threat to our Republic.

Bill Clinton would never have gotten elected and then reelected without the direct assist from the corrupt MSM. Same for Obama.

And the greater danger is is that Obama is growing is his imperialistic rule and we then have guys like Steve Kroft gushing on national TV over Obama and Hillary.

That is the fulcrum of our problem in the Republic.

Ann Coulter, a mainstream media figure, goes on a mainstream media cable channel to complain about the mainstream media. Am I the only one who 1) sees the irony in that and 2) is skeptical about MSM figures complaining about the MSM? Ann Coulter wouldn’t exist as a public figure without the MSM. Does she really want to tear it down or is she paid to say what we want to hear? I’m asking this honestly, because I can’t really tell anymore.

Also, if Al Gore can start his own cable channel, why can’t Ann Coulter?

The media have become a huge problem...and it’s not just the MSM version of the “news”...which has become straight progressive propaganda.

It’s also the talk shows that feature people like Matt Lauer on NBC, and the other libs on ABCNNBC. There’s not even a pretense of objectivity. This is how most Obama voters get their “news”.

Low information voters are told again and again that Republicans are racist and out to take away “rights”. All nonsense...but these people were never trained to think...simply don’t know any better.

Last year, only Gingrich called the MSM out for their bias. Romney was too much the gentleman...nice guys finish last.

A rant from the past - by a 19 year old:

Posted by Karl “FearTheEngineer” - 01/04/2004 : 22:14:48

Chao: Define, “people in uniform”

I serve part time in the Marines, in a combat role no less, and if the $#!7 hits the fan, I’ll be one of the first on the line to die. I’m an E-2, so I don’t get paid jack-squat either. And technology? My issued M16A2 rifle was built by Colt and has a very low serial number, and Colt lost the contract to build M16’s for the US government to FN Manufacturing in 1988....

Hey, I agree that the “suits” who run gigantic corporate enterprises that make cutting-edge technology are more interested in money than the well-being of mankind, and frankly it disturbs me that wealth and power are becoming one. I know that sounds wierd for someone studying engineering, but I’m also buddhist, so wealth and materialism is pretty darned low on my priority list anyway.

One thing keeps popping up in my mind though... a couple years ago I swore an oath, that I would “...support and defend the Constitution of the United states against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same...”

I didn’t join up to be part of some government conspiracy—I joined because I thought it was just one small way that I could contribute to the people of this country... although the discipline didn’t hurt much either. As I think back to that oath, something about all enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC... I wonder who is really to blame for the degredation of the American society.

My money’s on the American mass media. It seems like you can’t turn on the news without seeing news reports about the death and destruction, and commercials that seem to subtlely induce worthlessness or fear, offering solace in the consumption of goods and services. The way I see it, people in this country (and the attitude is spreading across the globe), are encouraged by corporations and broadcasters to spend more and acquire more stuff, inducing a sense of security in material wealth. Some things, even tradition, can have a spin put on them to make the public needlessly wary—even fearful. Why aren’t houses in this country built with big front porches anymore? Probably because we know more about fictional TV characters than we do our own neighbors....

Though I think this veritable brainwashing may not have been intentional, the people who cultivate this sort of society have a lot of the general public in their pocket, and many are trying to use their positions to reshape the world the way they think it should be, not taking into account any consequence of their actions.

Given a choice and an opportunity, I’d gladly do my part to “restructure” the commercial institutions that poison the society whose flag will one day be draped over my coffin.

We’ve contended with “liberal bias” for decades, but since Obama, the media has genuinely crossed over into the new territory of full-fledged “partnership.” And as a result, the country is rapidly reconfiguring into a one-party statist rule. It’s indeed a huge danger to democracy, and it’s about time this is recognized. No more checks-and-balances, as every element from the media to Hollywood to Wall Street to the wishy-washy GOP-E all gravitate and bow to the ruling socialist order. As the power gets more and more concentrated, then more and more anger, fury and persecution gets directed outwards towards those who refuse to submit, from tea-party types to Christian conservatives to libertarians and such.

"... What is with our media?”

Right here, she stated the problem. There is no "media," at least as far as honest reporting, and there hasn't been in quite some time. Long ago, you had Walter Durante and the NY Times covering up for Stalin's genocidal use of starvation against the Ukraine. Moving more towards the present, you have "the media" working with the North Vietnamese to ensure that public opinion turned against the war. Then "the media" brought down a president for a couple of screwed up burglaries, blowing it into "the worst thing ever!"

That added to their self-importance, where they've worked to turn public morals on their head, and to bring society down to the lowest common denominator.

Then, with Clinton, "the media" realized that they could protect "their guy" against anything, including perjury and bald-face lying to the American public.

Which led to Obama, where what used to be called "the media," has become the defacto "Ministry of Propaganda," in a symbiotic relationship, which is something that NO free society can possibly survive. Because even if the Ministry were to get around to publishing some of the evils of the government, that's when they'll be relegated to the camps, and a new set of "Ministers" will be installed.

There is only one reason that Obama is even president and that is the because the media loves everything about him. If they were doing their job properly, he would have been exposed for the fraud that he is a long time ago.

They even love his lies.

On Thursday night’s“The Kudlow Report” on CNBC, conservative commentator Ann Coulter called the media a “threat to democracy” and ripped what she claimed is the blatant hypocrisy of most mainstream outlets.

Coulter IS the mainstream media. She's a fraud.
