He isn’t the typical smooth talking politician, so I can see how one wouldn’t immediately warm up to him.

Rubio's resume:

High school.
Law school.
Politics.
That's it.

He looks pretty. He talks pretty. He's won elections. Put his resume up against the field of 2012 Republican candidates. Oh, how far we've fallen.

All these so called front runners this last election blew it when they touched the third rail of abortion. Right now we need to get the country fiscally under control then work on other issues.

That's what Reagan and Senator Howard Baker said in 1981.

Don’t let the RATS trick you, Rubio is a good man.

Yes, but you know how the GOP works - it's a hierarchy. Since 2016 is nowhere near "Rubio's Turn", it can only be concluded that those among the GOPe who are pushing him think a token Hispanic will be the key to overcoming Democrat voter fraud and registration advantage among minorities. Thus my earlier reference to Herman Cain, who was pushed by many for the same reasons.

They are going to be in for a shock when Rubio gets even less Hispanic support than Romney did. A white-skinned Cuban doesn't have much appeal to Mexican day laborers.

Well, maybe in the sense that he would be the 2nd Republican President to sign an amnesty bill, if he got elected.

Rubio has been in private practice. Obviously you know nothing about him. You just don’t like him. That’s your problem.

I have no dog in the fight and can be persuaded. I'm not a supporter of Rubio or Palin or Cruz or Jindal or whatever obscure governor is next in line. Convince me. I see an inexperienced lawyer turned politician who gives great sound bites. He is a career legislator and first term senator. What are his accomplishments that make him the best candidate for the highest office in the land?

These are the same people who were saying Scott Brown would be our nominee before he even won the Senate seat. lol

A whole lot of FReepers would prefer those threads not come back out of the memory hole. It was rather astounding to watch.

“I see the Democrat’s strategy of ‘Divide and Conquer’ is working here on FR.

Who needs opposition when we are bent on destroying ourselves? Rubio isn’t even a declared candidate, yet the usual chorus has struck up the tune. Alinsky would be proud.

I’m convinced, with few exceptions, this place has become a haven of Democrat sock puppets and low information useful idiots with the sole intent on keeping us arguing amongst ourselves.”

Oh dear God, there they go again. The “don’t divide and conquer... just drop your drawers for OUR milquetoast candidate with the pretty mouth” crowd are starting again..

You got your “can’t lose” jackass the nomination and lost it for us again. Not happy yet I see. “This time it is different...”

I’m fighting for my God fearing state. Screw these rinos.

That was one reason I hated him from the start, he has no moral fiber, didn’t he just about pimp his daughter (a joke I guess) after his victory?

Why would anyone trust a person without morals?

Rubio has a parentage situation/problem somewhat similar to Obama. The parentage situation is among the most important negatives for both men. The boil in this situation is how one holds to a Constitutional requirement that both parents must be citizens of the USA at time of a person’s birth for that person to be eligible for POTUSA. Neither Rubio or Obama pass this requirement. I am a firm believer that the Founders knew well what was intended and consequences, so both men fail my acceptance. However. it is even more insidious in that Obama becomes a legitimate POTUSA because people want Rubio for POTUSA.

I see you live in Florida too so you already know Rubio’s a lying amnesty POS. He was a lib in FL legislature. I just love your Romneyite defense of him. He’s a nice guy, a family man, blah, blah, blah... I guess the fact that he’s a traitor who wants to sell out our country has no bearing here? The fact that he even imagines running for president makes him an anti-Constitution scofflaw not worthy of the position.

As for what the dems want to do to us, they can’t do anything these RINOs, elites and establishment types in the GOP haven’t already done. They are the ones attacking us. They are the ones providing the libs all the ammunition and they are firing at us too. Some people in FL better wake up soon because our enemies are within the gates.

Who was YOUR candidate in the primary and WHY didn’t they win? Mine didn’t win either, but I put full support behind the nominee.

Reagan gave amnesty to millions, he was great. Rubio has never been liberal, and has always had integrity. He’s clean as a whistle witch is hard to do in a town where libs have detectives and every govenment agency digging for dirt on censervative politicians, with the Miami Herald ready to “expose” any accusations. Rubio was born in the US, has a legitimate birth certificate, and unlike Romney and Obama, he is Christian.

I too will support any conservative anti abortion candidate. The Marxists of the world have united and are imposing their homosexual, culture of death, Marxist dogma on the world via UN etc, I expect God to give us the right person at the right time. We don’t have the luxury of juvenile insults and disputes.

You RINOs need to quit using Reagan as your excuse for stupid behavior. Ronald Reagan never demanded giving illegals anything. He signed a bill as part of an agreement with the democrats that the democrats never kept. Do you imagine Reagan would have gone along with another amnesty after saying never again and having full knowledge that the dems never intend to keep their part of the bargain? Then why are you lauding Rubio for playing duped?

On top of that, Reagan was a Natural Born Citizen. Something Rubio, the son born of non citizens, cannot claim even though it just happens to be a constitutional requirement of a US president. The idea that he can even imagine running while knowing this fact is proof he has no respect for the US Constitution. Respect for the Constitution is another requirement of a US president.

Since I see you list Florida on your page, you should already know that Rubio has a problem spending other people’s money on himself. So I don’t know where you get this clean as a whistle stuff unless you are playing by Miami “rotten to the core” rules. And before you shout it’s a democrat smear, remember it was the Florida republican party that pointed out Rubio’s problem with their credit card.

Maybe people in other parts of the country have no idea what they are getting with Rubio but we who have lived here, 30+ years for me, and watched him, know about his amnesty love and that he is no Ronald Reagan.

I will support any Christian anti abortion candidate as God’s will. I don’t like ugly liberals, or ugly “conservatives”. Because I believe “you will know them by their fruit”. If God’s love and mercy for all people doesn’t unite us, we’ll get what we deserve.
