While the departure of Sarah Palin from Fox News as a paid contributor has caused endless speculation (as well as endless jubilation among her enemies) there are just a few known facts, according to the story in RealClearPolitics.
After some negotiations for a renewal of her contract, Palin was made an offer which was refused. The parting of the ways is said to be amicable.
That doesn't mean that some informed speculation is not warranted.

A Subway franchise?
Good for her.
FOX is the network of Tokyo Rove and
conservative-backstabber Willard RomneyCARE.
Sarah deserves better than Dennis Kucinich hiring Faux News.
If she's up for it and her family's up for it, I hope she will announce soon that she is a candidate to be the next president of the United States. Eight years without a real president is far too long, and it will take someone with Sarah's talents and patriotism to fix the extensive damage. Otherwise, I plan to ignore her - hope that she is working behind the scenes to elect genuine conservatives, but keep that hope in the back of my mind.
Another realty show, Rosanne living next door to Palin.
Not obscure enough. From my experience I would suggest software engineer.
After the backstabbing treatment both she and the tea-party received from the scumbag GOP-E over the past few years, I’m hoping more than just a little that she helps initiate a new, actually “conservative” party.
Sarah still lives in their heads rent free. LOL!
The article on Yahoo Voices posits that there are three possible futures for Gov Palin now.
One: She’s going to run for the 2014 Alaska Senate position
Two: She’s going to run for President in 2016
Three: She’s going to join Glenn Beck’s network
In my opinion, none of the above. I love Gov Palin, but I’ve seen nothing to indicate tha she has a strong interest in any political office. As far as joining Beck’s network, I could imagine it might hold some appeal for her, but I’d be surprised if she wanted a regular, permanent media gig on a network with such low visibility.
I believe we’ll see Gov Palin continue making her points on the internet, and via occasional appearance on cable and network TV news and infotainment-type shows. I believe we’ll see her continue to be active, via her PAC, in promoting and fundraising for conservative congressional candidates. I also believe she’ll continue making paid public speaking appearances, both here and abroad, and that she’ll write at least one or more books in the next few years.
Aye, SENATOR Sarah, from the new party!
Retreat to Wasilla.
Book writing and a six-digit advance.
Snow-machine racing.
She’ll be just fine.
She gets a lot of backstabbing right here on Free Republic.
Certain establishment types better start watching their back. I can’t wait until she starts kicking some major RINO butt. Fox has lost its edge completely. Time for a FREEDOM network.
Only been calling Alaska home for 20 years, but Palin was the best most effective Governor I’ve ever seen, either here in Alaska and honestly, she was light years beyond any Governor they’ve ever had in Pennsylvania; (where I was originally from); no joke. I really miss her not running the show up here; back to business as usual, CORRUPTION that is.
I'm not the biggest Palin fan, but I'd love to see her in the U.S. Senate. It would drive the lib's crazy on a daily basis.
I thought she’d moved to Arizona..that’s her state of residence.
I thought she had renewed her contract. I guess this is but one further step back into the obscurity she so richly deserves. One thing she did do was make millions off of her deluded followers.
Amen to that. It is disgusting and despicable the way Fox News has abdicated it's once proud leadership as the world's premier news source, and migrated down to the sports news genre, and from there to the sports gossip genre. Shep has finally found his level of incompetence.
