NBC is reporting that Adam Lanza did not take rifles inside Sandy Hook Elementary School. He did not use a rifle, deemed an "assault weapon" by the administration and media to kill and wound. To repeat, no rifles were found inside the school. Lanza reportedly had four handguns with him. How many of those handguns were used in the killings isn't known, or at least is not included in this report. (NBC video linked below)
The correspondent [in the video below] makes it clear over and over again that he confirmed this information with federal and state officials. Now, a lot of media reports contradict this one, but somebody’s lying. The report that an ‘AR-15-style’ assault rifle was in the trunk of murderer Adam Lanza’s car is up for dispute as well. If one examines footage from police breaking into Lanza’s car, one sees police clearing a round from a “long gun of some type” that does not appear to be ‘AR-15 style’ or ‘assault-style.’Whether or not the mainstream media are intentionally spreading disinformation about the Sandy Hook elementary tragedy, there is one thing for certain: not only are violent crime rates at a modern low and going down, but only 323 homicides were committed by rifles in 2011. That includes hunting rifles, assault rifles, military style rifles, semi-automatic rifles and whatever label one comes up with, regardless of magazine or clip capacity.
In a nation of 311 million people, the odds of being killed by a rifle is about one homicide per million people, which is far less than the odds of being murdered by a blunt object. (Read more at the link above)

If you're going to write stuff and make claims, then you have a responsibility to those who may read what you write to represent the truth.
Especially if you're making a sensational claim, or an accusation of wrongdoing. In this case, you're publicly making an accusation of wrongdoing.
To this means doing thorough research. And I mean THOROUGH. It also means not publishing something just because it sounds spectacular, or because it fuels your suspicions that there's a conspiracy somewhere. There's a higher standard than that.
It needs to be true.
Otherwise, you are merely contributing to the noise that people are bombarded with every day.
In this case, it is very easy to tell, with just a little bit of research or reading, that in the fog of initial reports and the rush to publish stuff about the Newtown shooting, the media got all KINDS of things wrong in their earliest reports.
That they got stuff wrong isn't really surprising. What IS surprising is how MUCH stuff they got wrong. They claimed the shooter was Ryan Lanza. They claimed he used handguns. They claimed his girlfriend was also missing and presumed dead. None of these turned out to be true.
Why did they do this? Because they were falling all over themselves to publish a story, RIGHT NOW, so people would read their newspaper or watch their TV report instead of their competitor's.
In this case, THEY were IRRESPONSIBLE.
And THAT is the real story here: The irresponsibility of the media in the early reporting of this story.
Please don't add irresponsibility to that by yourself further spreading claims that are not true.
Incidentally, publishing something that turns out to be not true is a warning to the writer. It says that you are not doing the work you should be doing in being careful to only present the truth.
It says you need to be more careful in doing your research, and slower to hit the "publish" button. In this instance, I hate to say it, but you are nowhere close to being in the league of having done enough research and confirmation to publish something like this and make this kind of public claim.
Extraordinary claims need extraordinary proof.
Incidentally... if it WERE true that Lanza had used handguns, don't you think the big libs would be going after handguns right now? That's what they REALLY want to go after. So-called "assault weapons" are a tiny, tiny drop in the bucket compared to the sea of handguns that Americans own. I'm sure there are gun-grabbing liberals right now cursing their luck that Adam Lanza used a rifle and not Glocks to commit his murders.

I don’t have television but woke up to your article, is this really what they are reporting?

This crap has got to stop being posted on FR.
I do not discount the possibility that the purpose of this type of inaccurate yet highly inflammatory reporting is merely to increase hits to generate ad click income for the blogger.
And as I and many others have pointed out to you, the story you are relying on was wrong, has been proven wrong, and you are wrong to try to perpetuate it as if it were some hidden truth.

If that's what you want to do, well, I guess no one can stop you. But if it's not what you want to do, then please don't do it.
This is something that a lot of the birthers don't seem to get. They are harming the reputation of conservatives witht their continual, ongoing, unending BS.
Then you have no story because according to the ME from his day one press conference the "long weapon" was used in the murders not the handguns and that has not changed.
But let’s not forget the likes of Bloomberg, Schumer, Cuomo and others who make lying their profession and whom we re-elect time and again because we have become immune to the sound of lying.
And, by the way, assault rifles need to be banned because of what happened at Sandy Hook.

I would think the Regime would want the world to know that handguns were used. That way they could push for confiscation of ALL guns, not just “assault” weapons.
Now, Obozo does lie every time he opens his mouth to speak and he serves the father of lies. He is truly evil.
In this case I am not convinced of whether pistols or a rifle were used.
We all know the Benghazi lie was only exposed because there was cell phone video footage that disputed the State Dept. and Obozo’s minions talking points. Even then it took 4 weeks before they finally admitted they were lying (sort of). (Playing hide the puck)
I am not sure it is that important whether or not the rifle was used or pistols. Same deaths, both semi-automatic weapons.
The only thing that will destroy Obozo’s plans and minions is full exposure of their crimes. Daylight is a strong disinfectant. When the right people want his real past exposed, this will end.
