Federal, state, or local. You, the man or woman with the badge, the sworn LEO or FLEA and those who inhabit the many law enforcement niches in between and on all sides. This essay is directed to you, because in the end, how this turmoil about gun control turns out will depend largely upon your decisions and actions over the coming months and years.
I sincerely wish that members of Congress—who may soon be voting on new gun control measures—would read this essay, but I realize that’s a pipe dream, considering the impenetrable bubbles around those exalted entities. So I’ll settle for you, Mr. (or Ms.) Security Agent, since you already gobble up everything on the internet, and I don’t have to seek you out.
A decade ago I wrote the novel Enemies Foreign and Domestic, a tale about how tragic events involving the misuse of firearms can be used by an evil administration to misinform and mold public opinion to support its malign anti-freedom policies.
No, my novel was not predicting “Operation Fast and Furious” a decade before that covert policy of “pursuing gun control under the radar,” (which was President Obama’s explanation to Sarah Brady for his lack of overt political action). That inter-agency gun-walking policy, remember, resulted in the deaths of over four hundred Mexicans and two U.S. federal agents, murdered in an effort to discredit the Second Amendment and lead to more restrictive gun control laws in America. (If Nixon—or any Republican, for that matter—were in office, the intentional bloodbath would be called Murdergate, but today’s collaborating Woodwards and Bernsteins are in on the cover-up.)

I read this article just last night. I think Matt is dead on in his assessment of where this country is headed. After all, why would the United States be any different than China, the Soviet Union, Turkey, Cambodia, etc. We must also take into account the group of people who are now in charge of the current Administration. These people are known associates of people who bombed the Pentagon, and participated in concocting plans to rid the country of the 25 million folks that could not be satisfactorily re-educated.
I had a discussion with my 75 year old father just this last weekend about gun rights and the importance of the 2nd amendment has in relation to our freedom. He said, “Oh, nothing like what happened in China, Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union could happen in this country!” I remember thinking to myself that people like him are the reason that totalitarian governments are able to gain power. These people just don’t believe it will ever happen—until it does.

If you approached someone in Germany in 1913, and told them you were from the future, and that in 20 years they would have a government that would ultimately murder 6 million Jews. That they would scour France, Holland, and Poland for them. That they would invade Ukraine and murder mothers as they held their 3 year olds close, and then murder the 3 year olds too. That in purpose-built death factories that they would murder children and women and work able bodied men o death on a starvation diet,,,, they would have thought you were some kind of nut. They would have told you that it was impossible that a German soldier would ever act in such a manner.
The person would have told you correctly that Germany in 1913 was the best educated, most productive, most free nation in Europe. That a much much larger percentage of Germany’s population could vote than in England. That they were the center of philosophy, medicine and science in Europe. That Jews were respected members of every facet of society, including the business community, the Army, the Navy, Academia, etc.
They would have said you must be mistaken. Germany has devout Catholic, Protestant, and Jewish congregations across the nation. NO, we are the land of poets and philosophers they would tell you.
Anyone who tells you it cannot happen in America is being ignorant. Facing facts is hard, and many refuse to do it. There were Jews in 1938 who still thought the worst was behind them, and refused to imagine how it was about to turn worse. They could have left, but didnt.
All i can say, is that if Anne Franks family had a 30 carbine, a Remington 870, or even a pistol, they could have likely killed the entire force that came for them and escaped. It was a nazi police officer, and 4 or 5 dutch officers. All indoors, all having to enter through a half sized door.
Registering their gun, means it wouldn’t have been there the day they needed it.

The thing is....how do we get this message into the hands of LEO’s and Federal agents around the country?
Awesome! Pretty much nails down every internal fear I’ve had the past 4 years...
I was wondering the same thing .... and realized I know several folks in law enforcement .... so they will be getting a 'hard copy' from me or an email if I have their address. If everyone who knew a cop or the relative of a cop passed this around, they'll get it, start talking about it, and it will spread through the ranks. There will be a lot of 'poo-pooing' going on (oh, that can't happen here), but it will get them thinking.
