I then installed it on a friend's machine for him to use. Again, no problems.
I then installed it on my son's home machine. But no matter what you use to print to it, my Droid, my son's Galaxy SIII, or my granddaughter's iPad, any page printed has "CONFIDENTIAL" printed in large block letters from the bottom left to the top right, overlaid over whatever is being printed.
When I Google this, I find one problem like this printing from a Nexus 7, but there is no answer or solution.
Anyone have any ideas?
Not sure about Google Cloud Print, but many modern printers (mine's an Epson) have wireless capability. I can print directly via WiFi from my computers, phones and tablets.
I usually do my damnedest to steer clear of anything branded google (I prefer to call them Gargoyle). This sounds like a global setting (since it shows up wherever you print). Typically programs like this have some sort of “options” that you can go into and change global settings.

Some printer models have the ability to watermark every sheet. Check the printer utilities to see if it has been enabled. Reinstalling the printer driver might also turn it off.

Google Cloud Print lets you print from anywhere you have an Internet connection. You can be on your laptop at the airport and send a printout to your printer at home or at the office, or to your client’s printer in Japan.

I’ve already tried reinstalling the driver with no luck. Hadn’t thought to check the printer control panel. Though the problem only occurs when Cloud Printing, not regular printing.

The only people who can print to your Cloud Printer are those who have the account name and password.
From the print dialog box that opens after you click ‘print’, click on properties and locate the option for ‘watermark’ - turn it off. It is a watermark, some drivers or machines enable it by default (my win 7 machine on my desk printing to an HP at my office did so when I installed it).
Of course... I have a really big repeater installed on the moon.
I figured that much.
Anyway... there’s probably a solution to your issue out there somewhere.
As for me, if I need to print from afar, I can email the document to someone near the printer and they can print the document. I can’t think of why I would need to print to a printer that doesn’t have a human nearby.... but I would love to be able to print stuff on the White House’s printers.
That could be (probably is) but in several years of using gmail as my primary email I don’t think I have ever received a directed topical advertisement from a company I don’t already do business with. You’d think there would be lots of hobby type stuff coming corresponding to my hobbies. None, from other companies. There is lots of general spam, of course, but that goes to gmail’s spam folders.
True, scanning or copying anything with an EURion constellation or a number of other security features found on money can lock down the copier and sometimes call the Federales.
The big difference is that AFAIK the hard drive on your copier doesn’t make a career out of selling your data, Gargoyle, uh google does.
