What do you all think of having JR post a FReeper Marketplace on the Home Page?
FReeper business owners could pay JR a fee (which would help with the FReepathons) and at the same time, we could choose to do business with other like-minded folks.
If you own a business, this would be a good way to advertise and get the kind of customers you really want to serve. And I, as a consumer, would know that my money is going to support a FReeper and not some Obama drone.
Another positive to this would be that if things do get bad, or if we want to "go Galt", bartering could also be an effective method of payment.
I'm all about networking at this point since I believe we need to lean on each other more than ever at this point and try to do ZERO business with anyone who supported Obama.
What say you?
I’ve been galt for 4 frigging years I have a wife who keeps wanting Romney to win because she wants her Fridge, dishwasher etc.
Now it will be another 4 years unless the GOP gets some balls and looks at these resutls which do not add up and where there has been massive rigged elections
I think it’s a great idea and I’ll bet a lot of others do to.

I would be interested, BUT:
I am concerned that trolls would get wind of this and try to either participate in it or trash us.
I kind of like the anonymity of this forum.
I’m in! I would love to do business with those I know I can respect. People who have no interest in seeing harm come to me and mine. It’s a great idea. We could put our cars up for sale here instead of the paper, used instruments, canned goods and all sorts of advertisements. We could also put up ads for music lessons and tutoring etc. It would be a great idea!

However I don’t think he minds a little advertizing on your homepage.

Indeed. I think this is a great idea.
I can also see that having Jim charge for those who may post their goods & services on here having some tax implications for him also.
Those of course are details that will need to be thought through and worked out, but I like the idea. I'm all for anything that starves the beast of revenue.
That was the only real drawback I came up with too.
If the ad was a link to your FReepmail though, you could check the FReeper profile to see how long they have been with FR, posting history, etc.
That would weed out all but the most persistent of trolls.
And I wasn’t thinking business owners would post an ad with the name and address of their business, but rather - type of business and state.
For example:
Mechanic - South Carolina.
I would click the link and it would take me to the FReepmail page where I could ask for details on location and make an appointment.

agreed I feel banging my head on the desk when I hear those two idiots talk or when I read a post saying we did nt turn up.
Even Col Allen west is finding that republican votes in that one district has not been counting republican votes.
Districts do not get 100% turn out and then 100% voted for obama but this happened in 3 counties in OH.
The nukmbers don;t add up and we have to put with the two turkeys talking about working with the left and I;m sick of hearing compromise like I just have on TV by FOX

I would really be interested in “Galt Planningâ€. How can you arrange your affairs to take maximum advantage of government programs? Can you own a house or have money in a 401K and still get food stamps? Get an Obamaphone? What are the limits? How can we live in our own communities, barter with each other, have little reportable income, and suck on the government tit? At this point, I am all for it. If you can’t beat them, join them.
Belmont Clubers had been saying we should have some code words or symbols.
The most obivious is the DTOM, and counter codeword/sign LFOD.
But since both were linked to tea party and well known, it has both pros and cons.
Bartering is taxable so we wouldn’t want IRS agents investigating us when they’re not busy checking health insurance.
Not if we treat it like a FReeper-version of craigslist.
I don’t see the IRS chasing after folks selling goods and services for online classified ads.
It wouldn’t be “Free” Republic anymore. Non-Starter with me.
