The day after the election, 8-employees of a Florida based company were individually called into the office of management and informed that their services would no longer be needed following the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.
The owner and his company cannot be named for fear of legal hassles and thug reprisals, even though Florida is a "right-to-work-state".
He had previously let it be known to trusted individuals outside the company, that if Barack Obama was re-elected, the healthcare laws and other anti-business policies the Obama admistration is pushing would force his company to down-size, and that his down-sizing would begin with "certain personnel" in particular.
This morning, the owner made good on his promise and e-mailed one of those "trusted sources" that I happen to know and told him that operation "Purge Stupidity" has been completed.
What these particular 8-employees didn't know was how he decided on firing them over other employees. Earlier in the year, the owner began to take note of which cars in the parking lot had bumper stickers supportive of Obama and stated that the ones who supported Obama and his destructive economic policies should be the first to pay for their decisions....with their jobs.
Don't you just love this? I DO! Stupidity should cost something. Today, for at least 8-employess, it has!

Same thing happened to a bunch of 0 bummer voters at the BX here who wanted to stay home and watch the festivities in Jan 2009. The BX manager - a conservative black woman - told them if they didn’t show up on Jan 20, 2009, just stay home afterward. There were four who stayed home and were let go on Jan 21.

Did the same thing myself 4 years ago but didn’t wait till after the election. The guy was dumb enough to start bashing Palin, and when he left for the day, the passwords were changed, remote desktop to the office revoked, and fired him over email telling him not to come back. Didn’t give him the actual reason.

You need to watch your back, and its probably best not to cite that as a reason for firing (permanent layoff). But as far as I know it isn’t illegal. There are specific reasons you cannot fire someone for such as race, religion, age, but political affiliation isn’t one of them.

In some states the only obama supporters are blacks. Firing all them at once = lawsuit.
Maybe it would, people can sue fr any reason. Unfortunately the burden of proof is on them. It would be more difficult if the worker was under contract, but most are at will employees, meaning they can be fired for any reason, or no reason at all.
The DNC wouldn’t be required to hire a republican, and could fire them if it was later found out. If you are an avowed enemy of the company you work for by way of voting for this marxist, you should be fired. No question about it.
Any leagal reason that is. You cannot be fired for race, religion or age. But that’s about it.
