The news of late has been very good. That is not a valid reason to slack off. It is an excellent reason to push harder.
According to recent reports, President Obama's reelection seems to be increasingly unlikely and Governor Romney is beginning to look like our next President. It may be time for the Democrats to panic and they are likely to do so.
Shortly before the recent elections in Venezuela, it seemed that Henrique Capriles would prevail and that el Presidente Chávez would lose. It did not happen that way. Now is not a time for those of us who oppose President Obama's reelection to relax.
Here are a few excerpts from an excellent article posted today by Daniel at Venezuela News and Views summarizing the results, and analyzing the circumstances, of the October 7th election results in Venezuela.
The elections were not freeIt is clear now that there were a lot of people that voted under duress. They were scared to find out at 3 PM that . . . the chavista electoral steam roller knew they had not voted yet. They got scared when they were hauled unto a van with other people that had not voted yet and were also found out. They were scared when they arrived at the voting center and saw strange machines and realized the privacy of vote was compromised. And thus they truly thought that chavismo would know whether they voted for Chavez or not.
. . . .
The elections were not fair
Making a complete account on why the elections were not fair would be a treatise. I will just limit myself to two very telling examples.
The media was overwhelmingly in favor of Chavez. It bears repeating over and over again that Chavez controls Venezuelan media because people outside either cannot believe the extent of the control, or are outright lying about it. (Emphasis in original.)
Unions paying or bullying people into supporting President Obama? Busloads of voters arriving at the polls? Media bias in favor of President Obama? Buying votes with ObamaPhones and other goodies? Rejection of self-reliance in favor of dependency on Government? Additional similarities are apparent, but those above should suffice to compel everyone who wants to keep the United States' electoral process free and fair to remain awake and alert. Here are a few things to look for. When the election is over it will be too late to change the results. Working now to prevent fraud and other abuse is necessary.
The United States is not Venezuela and President Obama is not el Presidente Chávez; yet. Could that happen? Maybe, unless we do our best to prevent it.
An Octember surprise?
While I am very happy that Romney is looking ahead, until the election takes place, I will assume that Romney is a dollar short and a day behind and lower in the polls than Obama.
And I hope that every Republican agrees with that assessment, so they don’t count the unhatched eggs.
Have heard reports on local talk radio here in WI that vanloads of liberal GOTV types have been showing up at nursing homes and other assisted care places and bullying, harassing, and otherwise strongly encouraging residents to vote absentee and even so far as to force their way into casting ballots for people with Alzheimer’s or dementia - even over family members’ objections. Several letters have come in from employees of these places but locations and names have been anonymous due to fears about losing their jobs.
Also, teachers all over the state have been using their classrooms as a bully pulpit to push the campaign for 0bama and the rats with any dissenting students having their grades affected. During the Walker recall earlier this year, the Racine school district allowed a radical, pro-illegal immigration group to go into the high schools and do voter registration of students and parents weren’t notified beforehand.
The only way 0bama wins Wisconsin is if it’s stolen and the entire Leftist infrastructure in this state appears to be hard at that.
They used every resource available to recall Walker and what happened?
This country is about to regurgitate the current occupant of the Oval Office in resounding measure. Romney may not be the ideal choice when it comes to pure conservatism, but he is the obvious choice this time around. Conservatives are not content merely to tip the ball of Constitutional self-government away from the crypto-communists and statists in our midst, but will swat the ball defiantly as toward the goal of all that was intended for this country from the start.
This is true. If everyone who voted for Walker in June votes for Romney I wouldn’t worry as much but there have been polls showing a number of people who support both Walker and 0bama, which I don’t get at all (unless they’re lying). Perhaps the debatse have swayed some of them if they were sincere. Plus there are some who voted Walker but aren’t sold on Romney and are going to piss their vote away or stay home. The other concern is that college kids weren’t around for the recall and they’re being encouraged to vote twice on many campuses.
Agreed. Remember, we can't just win. We have to win by a convincing majority, If we get into a recount situation we will likely lose due to election fraud. Dems monitoring early voting returns will be planning their recount strategy. Remember Franken vs Coleman.
I do. It’s amazing how easily votes seem to get lost and how much they favour the Democrats when found.
I’m not over confident. I voted today in my solid red state. I just wanted to make sure that if I died before Nov 6, that I wouldn’t vote Democrat
We should remember the caveat that comes with all of this upswing:
IF WE GET OUT THE VOTE, KEEP OUR ENTHUSIASM UP, AND CONTINUE TO DRIVE ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE ELECTION, we can feel confident that we should win.
Sorry for “raising my voice”.
