Looks like a ruby or something that might represent Massachusetts, Massachusetts Bay being one of the original colonies to declare independence.

Uh? Interesting? I flipped through a few of the other videos...and sure enough it seems to be there?
On a night when looking absolutely the best & sharp, any distraction in appearance is not good.
Although I am thinking it may be some sort of SS camera, but why would they do something so obvious?
Got me stumped, too. If it was a flawed pin, they should have caught it prior to his appearance. If it’s a ruby or something to represent Mass, that should have been noted by his PR people. In all of the other shots pre-debate, I can’t find that red spot in any of his lapel pins. Just odd...
Romney’s was bigger and that spot in the middle was a FNORD.

In case you were wondering, the symbol on Romney’s flag lapel pin is the Secret Service star logo. It’s a gift from his USSS agents.

I first noticed the spot on a pin Sean Hannity was wearing.
I watched his show for 20mins afterward, but didn’t notice a spot. It was late, though...
It was a pin given to him by his secret service detail.
