Here it is, the 11th anniversary of 9/11 tomorrow, and there's not a single documentary, retrospective or reminder about that day on TV this evening. I live in NYC so tomorrow we'll have the memorial service and it'll be broadcast locally. Will it be broadcast nationally?
Why the silence? Because 10 years of mourning is enough, and now we're in year 11? Or does its absence from the airwaves have something to do with election?
I saw this documentary a year or two ago on Discovery. It’s excellent. Here’s the first part and you can get to the rest of the parts from there. The uploader is TwinTowerTributes:

Bump for the video.
Last year, lots of Junior High kids did history presentations on 9/11. Most did okay, but some went overboard on the “reasons” why they attacked us.
And Happy Birthday to me. Although now we celebrate on another day.

Well, have a happy BD!
(on the day you observe it)
How did the kids go overboard with their reasons why we were attacked?
Not only at the WTC, but also in the Ira Drang Valley in Vietnam.
God bless this man, and all who gave the last full measure.
Thanks for the article.
Sue,
I can tell you the story of one little boy affected by this horrific attack. His father was killed in one of the Tower collapses, and his mom who was pregnant with thier second son at the time, moved into our neighborhood to be close to her brother (ALL WONDERFUL PEOPLE).
“Joey” is friends with my son now, and a happy, well-adjusted teenager, who does VERY WELL in school, and has a great time playing with all the teen boys in the neighborhood!!
Thankfully, his mom had the means to secure all the necessary therapy and guidance to help young “Joey” adjust as best he could.
Like you I truly feel for the children, especially those without the means to get the help they desperately may need.
“Joey” is a GREAT young man and I’m certain his Dad is smiling down from Heaven, very proud that his family has been able to cope as well as they have.
Although I’m sure today is a God-Awful day for them :(

Thank you for that, Red. That helps give me hope and I pray that there are nearly 3000+ stories like this family’s. I can’t imagine what these fine people go through...Every day.
FNC has been running a 9-11 trib/doc for the last couple of weeks.
We have much more important issues now! We just don’t have enough time to worry about terrorism when we have to give away rubbers!
“How did the kids go overboard with their reasons why we were attacked?”
Now granted - “overboard” to me means giving ANY thought to their justifications. But they mentioned the typical things like the expanding decadence of the West, troops in the Middle East, etc.
The media thrives on conflict. They act upset when there’s a war, but every one of them is fighting to go to the front lines and write that Pulitzer prize-winning investigative story. In any company I’ve ever worked for, every race has been represented and everyone gets along. If they don’t, it’s about power, personalities or responsibilities. I have never heard one person disparage someone because of their race. The media makes things up all the time and focuses on the races involved in any conflict and they try to make that the root of the problem.
