Karl Vick and Aaron Klein report in Time Magazine, August 31, that the Obama Administration has decided to drastically reduce US involvement in planned joint military exercises with Israel scheduled for October. Time also reports that long promised missile interception systems will not be delivered by the US to Israel at that time. This news comes as Iran tests missiles and ramps up rhetoric calling for Israel's destruction. Time reports that Patriot missiles will be delivered to Israel without trained personnel and one instead of the two promised Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense warships will be docked on Israel's coast.

Obama's military chief General Martin Dempsey has stated that the US will not be "complicit" if Israel strikes Iran's nuclear facilities.

This means that Obama has put Israel on notice not to expect US support if it decides to strike Iran. Even worse, Obama is slowing down military supplies to Israel that would provide missile defense if Iran strikes Tel Aviv. Obama has made his betrayal of Israel public which places Israel at greater risk of attack.

Mitt Romney accurately noted in his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention that Obama threw "allies like Israel under the bus" while Iran's centrifuges were spinning.We can only pray that war does not break out before Romney is inaugurated in January of next year. Indeed, if the Middle East remains calm until Romney becomes president than more likely peace will prevail as America once again honors its comitments to its allies.

Israel is offering to take out irans nukes, a service to the entire civilized world, and obama deliberately stands in their way. it seems there is no limit to his worthlessness.

Exactly. I don’t want to be melodramatic, but the pieces prophesied to be on the scene in the Biblically foretold Battle of Armageddon seem inexorably to be falling into place.... and that would put the US among the armies of the world who will march against Israel and to appear to be on the verge of wiping her from the face of the earth, only to be destroyed by the wrath of the returning Christ, whom Israel will — finally — recognize as her Messiah. Zech, Chs 12-14 is a helpful portion to read, although there are other passages that also throw light on this battle, as well.

That said, I cannot set dates, and the end could still somehow be centuries off, but..... It just seems to be getting ominously close.

Notice: There is no pushback from the Romney campaign on Obama’s turn against Israel — at least none of which I am aware.

Israel’s response should be straightforward: give us the tools we need, or if Iran menaces us too much, you, Obama, will be blamed for the consequences.

They can’t use the “n” word, in this case, “nuclear”, but they must be very clear about their intent.

The New World is not mentioned in scripture. It is supposition to state as fact the place of the U.S. in the last days.

Bible scholars, prophetic and otherwise, are being intellectually dishonest to say they know the place of the U.S. (as a nation) in scripture. We are simply not mentioned in the bible. We can surmise, extrapolate and associate our nation with other cities, nations and empires like: Babylon, Britain and the Roman Empire but the fact remains - the New World is not mentioned in scripture.

You are right--unlike individuals, countries don't exist in the afterlife, so they get God's judgment right here on earth. As Jefferson said, "I tremble when I think that God is just."

Is there some context that I'm missing?

If you're not establishing the place of the US in prophecy, could you explain what was meant?
