Turn Out The Lights: The Grand Old Party Is Over

That’s it. You can shut down the convention right now. It’s over. Romney’s camp just shut down all dissent, and they rigged it that way. Twitter is awash in angry tweets from people who know this was a sham. John Boehner actually wielded the gavel without a hint of a tear as he said “the ayes have it.” They didn’t have it, and I think it was pretty clear that even if they did, this was a set-up. I have news for the GOP establishment. I am voting in November. I will vote for all the down-ballot candidates who are worthy of my support. I am not going to vote for Mitt Romney. Don’t look at the page as though you’ve read the words of a man pledging treason. It was not I who rigged the primaries. It was not I who rigged the convention. It was not I who rigged the rules committee. All of those things are actual treasons against the conservatives in the America, and all of those things were carried out by Mitt Romney and his legion. I am a small matter to it, but I will have my say. If the Republican party wishes to commit suicide by Romney, they may do so, but they will do so without my help in the matter. John Boehner may have enjoyed his moment in despotic pleasure, and Reince Priebus may have been doing his masters’ bidding, but Mitt Romney had it within his power to put a stop to all of this, but when tested by circumstance, Mitt Romney’s fatal character flaws prevailed.

The Republican Party is dead. It’s time we get on with this convention and consider it a funeral. You’re witnessing a party that will now fall, and I’m going to help it on its way. Some of you diehard Republicans who read this blog may wish to find other haunts. It’s not going to be pretty. When I saw John Sununu begin to surface with regularity on Fox News over the last few weeks, I suspected the fix was in. His conduct of the RNC Rules Committee on Tuesday demonstrates that fact.

I am a person who refuses to separate his convictions from his actions and choices. Mitt Romney could have done many things to gain my support, and the support of many others, but rather than do so, he seized control. He used all his pals and buddies to take over and make the voices of grass-roots Republicans and Tea Party conservatives silent. Some will urge that we remain focused on November, and I agree, but my focus is irrevocably changed. I am out to defeat the GOP establishment in any and every form that may take.

Note to conservatives: I will understand if you swallow your pride and your principles and vote for Mitt Romney, but do not come to this site to chastise me or others who refuse to join you. Your argument had consisted of convincing us that the Romnoids wouldn’t behave this way, and at precisely that moment when they needed to prove it, they behaved precisely as we dissenters knew that they would. Save it.

Romney had his chance. Today, he blew it.

You are correct. The paulnutz keep demonstrating their inability to recognize Paul’s worst ideas are not going to ever be accepted and are insistant upon acting like 3rd graders.

There are ONLY two choices, nobama and the continued wrecking of America or Romney and a better than even chance of righting the subversive liberal damages.

Romney was not my first choice, but he now is because that is reality.

Ann Romney’s speech had several good points, the one that hit home best with me was that “Mitt was a fixer”. His record shows that and a FIXER is what we need at this point in America’s history.

>> Do we vote this guy in as President, which turns us all into little more than the sort of folks who man IRS

Huh? How does voting for Romney turn us into lying cheating sociopaths like your IRS neighbor?

Total non-sequitur.

Virginia's was rigged. That's why Bolling, who thought he would be the next Governor, will have to run the gauntlet of a convention next year ~ because the state committee just won't give him another chance to mess with a primary.

That book is closed and so are the electoral careers of those involved. Those guys will need to see what jobs Romney will give them.

Now, rigging elsewhere? I'd believe it.

I am reminded so much of Animal Farm ~

Really? You think I don't have other resources ~ beyond mere money? With a deficit of 10% of GDP you're lucky the money in your bank account hasn't been seized and spent on Obama's next vacation trip.

Or, worse, just seized and ground up as biofuel.

Remember, when a government can't pay its bills everybody is in trouble.

The solution is to begin monetizing the assets ~

Thanks.

I won’t bring it up until Romney does, if he does. It will be after the election.

You really aren't very smart are you ~ did you imagine politics stops with the selection of a candidate?

The Republican party was a coalition of a great number of interest groups and factions. One faction has gotten too big for its britches and forgotten about all the others with competing claims.

Pruning time comes in the Fall eh!

How about privately, with assurance I will not parrot the ideas?

That is a fallacy.

Mr. RomneyCARE did not win, as in ‘fairly’.

Mr. RomneyCARE CHEATED, backstabbed conservatives
and used terrible destructive leaks to hurt the GOP
for himself and his RomneyAGENDAE.

The only firing has been by Mr. RomneyCARE
and his vicious RomneyBOTs who developed their
‘skills’ on the Palin children.

Once again: Sheer brilliance. You really can make good points when you want.

Sorry, nothing is anti-Mormon ~ maybe more critical of the LDS than the other more authentic Mormon groups, but it's certainly not targeting that broad array of religious organizations!

Now, regarding Joseph Smith ~ eh, you didn't think I'd bring him up did you ~ well, he personally excommunicated me over a century before I was born. Oh, yes he did, and he wrote it down in his little Doctrines and Covenants book.

I think he excommunicated his mother too, and certainly the Whitmers and the Brooks' ~ which is why I not only do not have a horse in the LDS competition, they don't even want me around.

Frankly you are endangering your salvation and your reward to even talk to me, or with me, or about me!

Willard isn't even HALF as conservative as McCain.

You're comparing a rotten apple to a squashed orange. McCain was a "maverick" meaning he would vote liberal when the media asked him to.

How'd that work out for us?

McCain lost. How would it have worked out if he had won? Then your question might make sense.

“Conservatives can fight Obama, can keep him from doing ANYTHING.”

One problem with your thinking is that with Obama as president, there is no way we get rid of Obamacare.
Romney SAYS he will repeal it.
At least with Romney we have a chance to repeal it.

My position is not wrong. The GOP is wrong. They just did the very worst thing they could ever do. They threw their core constituents under the bus. They took away your representation in the party. The silenced your voice. Since the GOP doesn’t need to hear from me, be represented for me...then they don’t need me either. If it scares you that enough of us are willing to walk away, this election, from the GOP...tell the GOP their actions do have consequences. If they feel we don’t matter anyway...that is fine too. My vote was their’s to lose.

Every fighter needs a cause...tell me ...what is my cause now, what is my stake?

I will not vote for the perceived security of Romney and trade away my freedom. You may be fine with being thrown under the bus and still licking the boots of the GOP for some security from 0bama...I am not. History teaches that it is this position that is most deadly.

Last time a VP disagreed with the President, he was arrested and held for trial ~ that was Aaron Burr BTW. Since that time VPs hold their tongues, keep their thumbs firmly planted where they can't be seen and pray for a vacancy!

It will take Ryan a few weeks for the wound to heal up, but I'm sure he won't miss his manhood!

So we are expecting this guy, who couldn't beat the guy who got beat by Obama the last time around, to win this time?

Delusional.

Alf Landon, Wendall Willkie, Tom Dewey, Richard Nixon (in his first run he was to the left of the Democrat), Barry Goldwater (still had majority and GOP-e backing ~ Rockefeller Republicans walked out), Ford, Bush I (second run), Bob Dole, and John McCain ~ it's a huge line up of losers. The handful of Republicans since FDR came along got there without GOP-e's help ~ although Ronaldus Magnus certainly had some trouble with them.
