I think AC’s ego transcends his sexuality. He'd rip ANYONE a new one if he thought it would be a good story, gay or straight, right or left. I mean it's not like HE made a huge issue out of it compared to a lot of people coming out of the closet.
He is a pretty good journalist/presenter to give him his due in technical competence; he fashions himself after Edgar R Murrow, from what I can tell, that is with a liberal bias but capable of indignation against left or right if the story is good enough,
