Color is the bugaboo that we just cannot escape even and especially when it should be the least important thing discussed. Which brings me to the discussions that the ignorant, race-mongers are having pursuant to Gabby Douglas.
Miss Douglas has won two gold medals at the London Olympic Games. But in her case, winning two gold medals isnt enough. The obligatory focus on the color of her skin by the politically correct, is sickening, but the ridicule she is receiving from blacks punctuates the statement made by Rev. James Manning that black people are honorless, incorrigible idiots.
It’s a lot like how a few years back, before (during, and after) the Super Bowl between Pittsburgh and Chicago we were treated to a non-stop litany on how these were the first two black coaches to make it to the big game, and therefore one would be the first to win it.
Funny thing — if they hadn’t gone out of their way to mention it, I (and many others) would never have noticed the fact. Isn’t that fact that it isn’t “remarkable” the goal of treating everyone equally? It never would have occurred to me to question whether or not Gabby Douglas was the first black all-around gold medalist, because I didn’t see her as a “black” gymnast, but only as an “American” gymnast who delivered a great performance.
Yup.....but idiots will always be idiots and the internet gives them a place to promote their biases.
She is a wholesome all-American girl next door. Wish there were more like her back when I was that age.
But I guess some people seems to only see “black gurl” first and always.
I read an earlier article on this hair thing and could not believe it. They were insulting this lovely girl all over Twitter. Her mother was extremely upset and accused them of trying to destroy her confidence in herself. She went on to lose her last event.
I don’t know if these insults had anything to do with her poor performance, but I know she was dumbstruck by the nastiness she was receiving.
It was a darn shame.
I know, some blacks are on a rampage because she straightens her hair and that means she’s trying to be white, according to them. It couldn’t have anything to do with the fact that a gymnast needs to keep their hair out of their face.
I get really offended when people refer to me as a hyphenated American. I’m white, but my ethnic background has nothing to do with what I am. I’m an AMERICAN dammit.
As Teddy Roosevelt said - there should be no hyphenated Americans, just AMERICAN Americans - and this politically corrrect garbage has gone too far in ALL areas.
It’s that “crabs in a barrel” thing.
Only liberals look at Gabby’s race. I dont, I look at Gabby and see a great kid with amazing talent. She is indeed a GREAT AMERICAN. She has a strong faith in God, who she quotes daily on her twitter page, leftists hate hearing about God so thats probably why they trash her
I would like to loose the Zulus on these idiots. They would not put up with their idiocy for a minute.
That’s why I’ve always thought that “African-American” designation is ridiculous. Not to mention that the politically correct designation changes about every other decade.
Then what must they think of Moochelle?
All I know is that Algore should be checking the carbon footprint required to straighten that nappy hair.
Just like attacking Michelle Bachmann for criticizing our panfereing politicians for their Islamic connections.
The enemy is political correctness and it must be rooted out branch and stem.
If their coaches are letting the athletes see Twitter commentary, the coaches are fools.
What's the big deal about an Olympic gymnast's being black, anyway? I remember when Dominique Dawes was competing - another bright, pretty girl and great athlete.
Maybe the jackasses would’ve preferred her to shave her head.
Sheesh.
[they’re just jealous that she actually worked hard and achieved something all on her own..yeah..’she built that’]
If I get a curly perm, am I trying to ‘be black’?
Uh..no..it would mean I felt like having a different hair style than I was born with.
BFD.
If we all regarded each other as truly equal, the Left would have no one to pander to or demonize. That would spoil their whole gig.
Blacks have been straightening their hair for years, the ones with red hair and blondes are much more noticeable than the ones with straightening.
It’s pretty pathetic when they try to diss this girl for her hair.
the left now hate her due to her thanking God and because she is not the stereotype the left likes
