Sometimes I put my hand over my heart, sometimes I stand with my hands behind my back, sometimes I get caught up gazing at the flag, remembering the sacrifices that were given for the flag while my hands just hang naturally.

Who cares? As long as people are respectful and not giving some political expression like the 68 morons or turning their back to the flag...it’s a non-issue.

This girl is 16 and is honoring her country with her athletic skill....Quit looking for the boogeyman where it doesn’t exist.

Nobody said her effort or dedication or success were connected to her color. When people say, "She's the first black American woman to win gold," they're pointing out that something new has happened. People like pioneers.

In the gym, there is no color. It is all about talent and work ethic. Gabby has both. And she has great faith instilled in her by her parents.

I notice the media is not asking her about her Christian faith. Just her dark skin.
