Why does everyone think Hillary will run in 2016?
She has said she’s leaving as Sec. of State at the end of the year, whether Obama gets re-elected or not. She won’t stay for a 2nd term.
And Bill Clinton once said that Hillary wanted to be a grandmother much more than she ever wanted to be president.
We don’t know if Chelsea and her husband even live together anymore, so who knows about grandchildren. Anyway, would a 69 year old Hillary come out of political retirement in 2016 to run again????
Are Democrats that eager to re-run the Clinton soap opera in 2016?
An interesting question. I hate to keep anyone up nights worrying, but Dick Morris came up with an intriguing thought a couple of days ago. Despite his lack of predictive accuracy, he does have insights into the Clintonian mind. He thinks Bill misses the Presidency desperately, and considers Obama a bungling amateur who endangers the Democrat Party.
Bill's put himself back in the public eye, Morris thinks, both to undermine Obama's campaign and to put himself in contention as the 2016 nominee since he's now eligible to run again. At first I dismissed the idea as another of Morris's wild conjectures but there's a certain kind of logic to it. I'm watching Bill's behavior very carefully.
