I think y’all are missing the boat here.

What God requires is that you love your fellow man. No man is perfect, and even a saved man can still make mistakes. Voting requires a judgement call between two or more imperfect humans. Even a saved man, who scripture speaks of as “having been perfected forever” is capable of doing wrong in this life.

It’s not a sin to vote for an imperfect man. It’s a sin to fail to act in a loving manner.

And no Presidio, all bets aren’t off until a life is lived. Jesus said who ever believes on me HAS everlasting life. And it’s not everlasting if you can lose it. Scripture says we have been perfected for ever. It also says “Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.”

Get you head around this. I’m perfect because I have the imputed righteousness of Jesus. Not because I’m perfect in my own right. I’m saved, and nothing in this life can intefere with that. The Prophet Samuel said we would never leave God. Jesus said He would never drive us away. Scripture says “These things are written that you might KNOW that you are saved.” And Paul said that “neither life nor death nor..... can separate us from the love of God.

I took God up on his promise. And God won’t fail me, because it depends on Him not me. He didn’t say it was conditional on me living a perfect life the rest of my days. But Paul said “I know whom I have believed and am confident that He is faithful to keep that which I’ve committed unto Him against that day.”

That's a nice idea Danny, but unfortunately we continue to have free will (and the mortal temptataions that come with it) even after we accept Christ into our lives.
