No thanks. Meanwhile, what do you think the “preppers” are going to do about all the people they love who are on serious medications such as insulin? No way can a person prep for that (at least not for the time frame the preppers seem to be concerned with).
As for all of these nincompoops on here talking about the unwashed urban masses invading them in their rural shangri-la’s, I have never seen so much mean-spirited - and I mean truly evil - thinking when people start talking about this. I have a hunch that the city folks most people are referring to will implode before they ever get out to the country.
Whatever happened to “love thy neighbor?”
I don’t know who you are referring to when you say they’re “mean-spirited” or “evil”. Most of the “shoot people who ask for food” people have been purged from the prepper threads as inappropriate.
Most preppers have a “charity stash”, but we also know that some folks aren’t prepared to receive charity but would instead try to take by force, and we’re prepared for both.
“Whatever happened to love thy neighbor?”
Your neighbors will kill you and feed themselves from your food. Hungry people do amazingly evil things and we have millions of evil people that will also be hungry. Feeding those that cannot feed themselves, such as the elderly, is one thing; trusting hungry able bodied people to act civilly is naive.
Take some time and educate yourself before you make such stupid statments. For starters, if you are a type 1 or have a type 1 child you BETTER be thinking ahead of the game.
Yes - prepper doctors have many blogs and websites that offer information on how to prep for the worst. for example

This is just one of many. I can't prep for YOUR insulin needs - only YOU can do that.

Read up on some of the events surrounding Katrina PP as well as other historical events. If a situation hits where lawlessness is unchecked, people can and will do those things.
The very presence and abundance of information encouraging people to become prepared is the very example of loving one's neighbor. If you choose to ignore those warnings - then it is on you, as in a crisis/disaster MY RESOURCES will be stretched and will be relying upon MY preparations to get through. I will help where I can, but to impune our efforts by some misaligned slur that we don't love our neighbor jumps the shark.
How ironic that you're all concerned about loving your neighbor when we know that since you're not prepping, you're going to be on the receiving end of it.
Well, what about you? How are you going to be showing love to your neighbor when the shtf? By sitting there with him starving together? By going to them and expecting them to hand out food that they've thoughtfully stored away to feed their family and give it to you instead at their expense?
By not preparing you'll be incapable of doing what you're criticizing and condemning others for not doing. You'll simply be part of the problem because you'll be depending on handouts to eat that someone else could be eating. By prepping, not only can you share what you have, but you also free up food for the others who can't/won't/didn't prep.
I don't think that is the rule for most people...
most of us try to put a few things away to beat inflation, to save time and effort in running to the store, to have stuff to share, and least of all, to be prepared for major disaster...
major disaster is NOT what anyone wants...
for me, I worry endlessly about my adult children who btw are bamey supporters...they haven't got a clue....that doesn't stop me from bringing them groceries once in a while and preparing in my mind where we will house them if SHTF....and I've already invited them...
in my county, burglary has risen over 60% outside of towns....60%!.....their going around randomly and attacking homes where they think no one is home....the other day, 3 children were home alone when a burglar came into their house...luckily, the snuk out without harm....
I'm not required to commit suicide in service of the stupid. I find you as funny as you find me.
