Rush Limbaugh has rejected an advertisers apparent attempt to reunite with his show after the company initially dropped its ads from the program following his remarks about contraception advocate Sandra Fluke.
The company, Sleep Train, calls itself the No. 1 Bedding Specialist on the West Coast, and most recognized mattress retailer in the region.
In an email to Sleep Train President Dale Carlsen (obtained by The Blaze), a representative of the show says that Limbaugh personally considered the companys request, but denied it considering its public comments following the controversy.
Thank you for your requests last week and this week to restart your voiced endorsement in local markets of The Rush Limbaugh Show, the email begins. Rush received your requests personally.
Unfortunately, your public comments were not well received by our audience, and did not accurately portray either Rush Limbaughs character or the intent of his remarks. Thus, we regret to inform you that Rush will be unable to endorse Sleep Train in the future.

Unfortunately, Carbonite made the same type of remarks, and he’s letting them back on. Bad form, IMHO.
Is Media Matters going to publish this and give this info to Ms. Fluke? Somehow, I doubt it. Guess their sales are plummeting.
How could Rush take any of them back? Does this company really think his listeners going to forgive and forget and rush out to buy their product? I hope the others come crawling back and he turns them down as well.
Why should Sleep Train care? They can hire Sandra Fluke as an endorser - and I understand that she knows beds.
Don’t they make Sleep Number beds?
The Carbonite statement was the one that really ticked me off! Not to mention the guy is a far- left wack who was using this as an opportunity to take Rush down. I hope that if Rush let him back, he atleast quadrupled his rate!
Personally....I don’t think I even hear commercials anymore. Ha!!
Meanwhile, the Daily Kos/Mainstream Media/MediaMatters take:
What does it say about the radio blowhard, who goes before his listening audience and essentially says that he’ll give up his air time for free? What does that make him? It makes him a slut, right?
A total of 86 ads aired during WABC’s broadcast of The Rush Limbaugh Show today
77 of those ads were public service announcements donated free of charge by the Ad Council
Of the nine paid spots that ran, seven were from companies that have said they have taken steps to ensure their ads no longer air during the program
WABC’s online feed included about 5:33 of dead air when ads would normally have run.
He’s giving away so much air time, it’s amazing he’s still on the air. The fact is he wants to have repeated, never-ending, as often as he wants it, dead airfor free.
Probably a mistake.........
Make an example of the first and most vocal of those who ditched, forgive the rest.
Just thought you might be interested......LOL!
No, it's not a mistake. I work at a radio station that carries him. I'm telling you, this is a new spot--a network spot--the he has just recorded himself, like always. Carbonite is back. Listen next week. You'll see.
Not in my market. The ads are all paid.
The original matress factory might be a good candidate. They recently added a memory foam line. I don’t know about it, but I love my memory foam. I hate those sleep number air matresses.
Let them try one of those very successful liberal talk shows. That should boost their sales by a minus number.
Let me know when it’s on the log. I’ve done a good share of dubbing in my day as well. Dubbing is one thing, airing and logging is another, as you well know. But you are likely correct.
Rats. I thought their puplic letter was incredibly insulting.
I would approach this a bit differently. First the typical CEO does not make a move unless someone in his staff raises a stink about Rush. If I was Rush I will tell the CEO fire all the SOB in his board and/or staff that gave him bad advice then he will accept their ads again. That way in the future no subordinate would suggest this to a CEO unless she is willing to risk getting fired if the fallout is negative.
No, that’s Select Comfort, who just received a scathing message from me, regarding my boycott of their products, and I was an EXTREMELY loyal customer before this.
Sleep train will look good with that one broke off in their ass.Good on ya Rush.
