Now that Rush Limbaugh has apologized for calling Sandra Fluke a "slut" isn't it well past time that Bill Maher apologize for calling Sarah Palin an even more vulgar expression?
Maher cheerfully announced he was donating $1 million to the Obama supporting super PAC "Priorities USA Action"
(here is a link to the Daily Beast story http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/02/24/bill-maher-says-1-million-to-obama-super-pac-is-practical.html)
It's his money, I have no problem with him making the donation, and I can't blame anyone for saying "THANKS!" for a million dollars. However, I think Obama should be forced to acknowledge the misogyny of his supporter, and perhaps encourage him to apologize.
Please contact the White House (whitehouse.gov) and the campaign (barackobama.com) and the Super Pac (prioritiesusaaction.org)and let them know (politely please) that Obama should request that Maher apologize to Palin or else return this money.
A civil political discourse requires nothing less.
If anyone does facebook, twitter, etc. get the word out there too.
We need to use the Alinsky-ite tactic of making them live up to their own standards.
Look, we know neither of these things will ever happen, but at least we can torment them for a while.
A drip, drip, drip kind of thing because Maher can't control himself, and Obamarxist is hard up for the money.
Efforts to "educate" or "talk to" The Left are futile. They are either True Koolaid Drinkers or their enablers who earn billions of dollars from milking them and will never, ever stop on their own. The Republicans are hapless. They try to "win" by participating in "debates" run by The Left and in which their best hopes are to leave alive. I do believe the Tea Party will rise again as the elections near, only this time they will be met with violent Occupiers who will be protected by the police and the Rancid Media in coverage of their confrontations. The best initial weapon we have is to be there with your cell phone cameras to record and then post their hate and violence. Beyond that, exposing them is the best long-term solution. This will involve alternate media. Stay tuned.
I respectfully disagree. The news about Maher's million dollar donation to Obama's SuperPac is recent and fresh. The timing is perfect to demand that Obama disavow the comments, and cause that money to be returned.
I know Obama will say he has no control over what the PAC does, but he ought to be forced to publicly call for the return of the money and disavow the SuperPac.
Well, good points, but I’ll have to respectfully disagree as well.
OTOH, if you do think now is the time, I would add this little morsel: Bill Maher was sued for allegedly physically abusing his former black girlfriend. (I don’t know if this case was settled, or what eventually happened with it). I mean if calling a woman a word is bad... an Obama donor physically attacking a woman is beyond the pale:

I’m not really interested in reaching the left. I just want to even out the narrative. If enough people got on this it might (might!) make the news.
Even if it did not make the news, those running these organizations would know how we feel. OK, I admit that would be dialog with the left, but let them know we are paying attention.
And, at the very least, they will be forced to answer phone calls that aren’t helping or supporting them.
I like the other thread to call the sponsors that dropped Limbaugh, waste their time and on 800 numbers, waste their money.
Goose=Gander=Good!
I’m bumping my thread to add the phone number for the super PAC priorities USA action, which is NOT on their website:
202-728-7780
I got not one, but two, live people so let them know how you feel.
I appreciate that Maher defended Limbaugh, and if he thinks Rush was right to apologize he should do the same. And model better behaviour in the future.
