This email was sent yesterday by me to Rush Limbaugh.
Rush,
The statement you released today has left some people disheartened, but not me.
It did however, leave me concerned: concerned for you, and concerned at how aggressively this Plague of Marxists moved against you, and so soon after the death of Andrew Breitbart.
I am stunned, but ultimately not surprised, at their audacity.
I can only imagine the details of what influenced your decision to take this course of action, but I implicitly trust your judgment that the statement was needed so that your program could continue the fight.
I have often said that The Marxists would rue the day that they succeed in silencing you, because the rest of us would not be laughing any longer.
Well, I stopped laughing today.
Their attack was effective, and it will continue relentlessly.
So, the time for laughing is over.
I think you know this as well.
As such, I look forward to Monday's program.
I look forward to a newly purposed Rush Limbaugh who's not playing games any longer.
And though the future is uncertain, and though I am just a faceless listener with no real power but the power of my support:
I stand with you in this fight, Rush Limbaugh.
Rush may apologize, but I won’t. Fluke is a rug munchin slut. There, I said it.
The sharks have been circling for a long time and they are now in a frenzy! Blood in the water is never a good thing. If you have ever been out fishing in open water and have seen this I will tell from experience it is a scary scene. That about sums up my gut feeling at the moment.
I predict that by the middle of this coming week it will be revealed that she is a lesbo.
I’m with you on this. While I am disappointed, I am holding out hope that Rush is springing a trap for the liberals. Monday will be very interesting indeed.
It’s one of those days, like the day after Obama was elected, or the day after the midterms of 2010, or after Brown won the Kennedy seat, when the listenership in the first segment will be huge!
“Rush cares only about himself. He has a way out. He doesnt care about us, only our money.”
Well said. Lately I have come to realize that. He is using more and more of the content portion of his show to flack for oil changes, cherry candy, flowers, on and on. And worst of all that tea which he has to give away.
So, when advertisers started bailing on him, he caved. They hit him where it hurts, his money. Breitbart would never have ginned up this silly contoversy as Rush has.
Well that should reduce the contraception budget a tad....
Rush should have lots of listeners on Monday and he has tons of possibilities for that show. It should be interesting.
Remember years ago when he did a show claiming that he had converted to liberalism? He was fantastic. Imagine something along those lines. He could then agree with those on the left that had denigrated conservative women. He could list them. He could appeal to the advertisers of the shows those people appeared on....
Whatever he come up with, he’ll pull it off.
Big difference:
McAuliffe said, “nuts!”
Rush Limbaugh said, “I’m Sorry.”
I agree with your analysis, Sud.
And in the end, Rush has every right to do what he(or Kathryn? :-) felt was right. It’s his choice, not ours.
He will not abandon us though I am disappointed that he hasn’t taken on Romney yet.
Wisdom? Your father’s response likely communicated to that “scary man” that he could get his way through intimidation and may very well have emboldened him to commit additional acts of mischief.
LOL... Americans have the memory of a goldfish...
Rush is no where near finished with this yet...
I can think of a dozen ways to turn this on the left to make them look stupid and hypocritical...
He got his mea cupla out of the way....
My first thought on seeing her.
She doesn’t need contraceptives. Bet she shops at Snap-on.
Completely agree. The left will now be relentless in their attacks on ALL of those who continue to sponsor Rush (save, possibly, Two if By Tea).
I have been listening to Rush since the late 80's (when he was local on KFBK Sacramento) and in my opinion ...he will never be the same. He is now damaged goods.
I can see new sponsors (and perhaps existing ones as well) putting riders into their agreements that Rush will not talk about certain things.
Though he will continue to be witty and a solid voice for conservatism, I believe Rush using the absurd to point out the absurd is now a thing of the past. We all get used to our life style and I don't think Rush is in any hurry to give up the mansion or the private jet.
For the record, I don't begrudge him one bit for what he has accomplished and acquired over the past few decades.
It’s a shame your father couldn’t have taught you about courage in the face of evil!!!!
Rush plays at a level few of us understand, where the stakes are higher than many would be comfortable with and I wouldn't be surprised if Rush gets rattled from time to time.
Between AB's sudden death, especially after interviewing Arpaio, Arpaio's show and tell, plus that package Rush received that set off his security, maybe this is one of those times?
Or maybe you're right about those marching orders and Rush is following his?
This made to order contraception distraction is doing a great job keeping everything else off of our msm's front page.
Indeed. He spent his entire show on Friday digging himself deeper into this hole.
My wife’s feelings as well.
Rush is not stupid, and knows the left “like every square inch of his glorious naked body”. A quote, not a living witness.
Just wait.
Time will tell.
Let’s just all face facts: the discourse in this country is changing faster than we could have ever believed. What was once acceptable is now so utterly PC it throws you for a loop. Rush will survive and I do agree with you that his speech will probably be tempered because of legal agreements. We are seriously watching the end of free speech. It will be squashed no matter what we say or do. As far as Rush selling out as I have witnessed here, what on earth is he suppose to do in this case. He has been carrying our water for years. So he made a great deal of money? I applaud his enteprenourial spirit, not begrudge it as some seem to on this thread. Let’s get real, he says things to get an audience and he has done a phenomal job keeping my attention and teaching me for 20 years.
Of course sponsors have the power, they are Rush’s customer.
Conversely, we have the power to cut off our trade with those sponsors that showed their true colors of liberalism.
Not knowing how the contracts with Rush’s stations address national sponsors sharing, Rush may have needed to protect his stations.
Just remember who these “PC chickenchoking” sponsors are and make them see the real power of Rush.
Even I thought Rush got a bit carried away with the “fluke” reaction and have no problem with his retraction and apology, but there is little doubt the liberals will do their best to exploit his apology as a sign of weakness, which to their coming surprise, is not.
