One big difference....it’s not for want of trying, but the Feds have not yet confiscated our guns. As long as the citizenry is armed, we have a chance.
Not if they dont have the will to use them. What part of the citizenry that is armed came to the defense of those at Waco or Ruby Ridge? What part of the citizenry that is armed is standing with the Amish who are being arrested for selling raw milk?
“but the Feds have not yet confiscated our guns. As long as the citizenry is armed, we have a chance.”
Just wait for Barry part II....
But really, the idea that we can protect ourselves from the military is naive. I have a fervent hope that the “Oathkeepers” ideas will protect us however, the best weaponry we have as citizens is no match for the Police State as it stands. Yes, we have high powered hunting rifles, shotguns, handguns, etc. But the cold reality is that we are no match for a determined tyranny. In 1936 (I believe) when the Germans were disarmed the populace had weapons closely equal to the police/army. Today, our arms are based on 100 year old technology.
CCRKBA Blasts Emanuel’s Proposed Illinois Gun Registration Scheme
PR Newswire
BELLEVUE, Wash., Feb. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s proposal to slap law-abiding Illinois gun owners with a handgun registration mandate that includes a $65 per-gun fee is “nothing more than a maneuver to discourage gun ownership in the face of court rulings that have gone against Chicago’s stubborn gun ban mentality,” the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms said today.
Under Emanuel’s proposal, any Illinois resident purchasing a handgun would be hit with the $65 registration requirement, which is over and above current statutory requirements that include possession of a Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card.
