The Dutch artist Jan Vermeer painted The Love Letter around 1670 but the mood is timeless and so appropriate for Valentines Day

    AH, The Pre-Raphaelites. Some fifteen years ago my wife and I went to an exhibit at The National Gallery in DC. Breath-taking. This appears to be a work by Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
