Is A Brokered Convention The Conservatives' Plan?

The mainstream media has been happy to play along, practically writing the obituary of the tea party movement and discounting conservative contenders. The president's reelection campaign has focused almost exclusively on Mr. Romney as its de facto opponent. And yet somehow, despite all the collective firepower against them, those conservative voters are making their voices heard. They may not achieve an absolute victory for a conservative candidate via the primary process, but they are certainly raising the chances of a brokered convention in August.

The republican convention may be a fight between the RINOS and the Unicorns.. versus the Elephants..

Could be a big Discovery Channel Event..

**Note; I wonder which third parties are still viable...

If the powers that be insist on deliberately pushing a worthless moderate on us, we will do everything we can to deny that candidate a first ballot nomination.

And beyond the first ballot, all pledges to a specific candidate evaporate.

Exactly! I wonder if the powers that be underestimated conservative voters’ ability to understand and work within the system to block the nomination of their chosen candidate.

I like the idea of a brokered convention personally.

If we can keep the nomination from being wrapped up on the first ballot, the conservative voice, comprised of a coalition of conservative delegates, is enhanced (and conversely, the party establishment voice weakened) from that point forward.

I would think that the candidate who is eventually nominated would then be more conservative than would happen otherwise.
