By a more than two to one margin, Americans say that the more they learn about Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney, the more they dislike him, per a new Washington Post / ABC poll:
Overall, 55 percent of those who are closely following the campaign say they disapprove of what the GOP candidates have been saying. By better than 2 to 1, Americans say the more they learn about Romney, the less they like him. Even among Republicans, as many offer negative as positive assessments of him on this question. Judgments about former House speaker Newt Gingrich, who denounced Romney on Saturday night in Nevada, are about 3 to 1 negative.
Of course, this may be wishful thinking. I think the powers that be are doing everything they can to trap us with a worthless candidate. Maybe they'll entrap themselves with him instead and Newt will be able to take the convention.
He’s winning primaries and caucuses because he can outspend his opponents 20-1 and smear them. That won’t work in the general election against a singular opponent with a lot of money. We’re in for an epic landslide Obama win.
And a Barack Obama who doesn’t have to answer to the electorate anymore... lolz
“The More People Learn About Romney, The More They Dislike Him”
That has certainly been my experience.
It there enough time for the slow learners?
Romney is a superficial president from central casting.
Oh noez
Dole, Bush, McCain...and now Romney?
I'm frankly done. I've made decisions long ago now...to watch out for me, and mine. I don't care anymore about politicians that say that they are looking out for me.
I'm giving money to those I think are maybe helping...It's never money to the GOP. IMO....they are part of the problem. If not my enemy. Period.
I've a Senator here in OK....Tom Coburn, whom I respect, and think is a decent guy. But he thinks insider trading by House members isn't a problem???? Are you kidding me??
I'm so done with all of these guy's it ain't funny!!
Rant off!!
Please, please pray that when the time for the convention comes, that no one candidate has enough votes to take it on the first ballot - we don’t need a coronation and certainly not a coronation of a person who is patently the object for a tremendous series of smears and calumnies by the Democrats.
Obama has got NOTHING going into this election. No popular programs, no distingujishing acts of statesmanship, no evidence he even understands the duties and responsibilities of stewardship that is part and parcel of the office of the Presidency, and certainly no clue as to how economics really works. All he has is an agenda, for a system of governance that has failed in every nation and at every level in which it has been attempted. When the Chinese can lecture Obama on the virtues of economic prudence, it is clear that he has lost his way.
But damn, do they have just one hell of a war room, when it comes to political campaigns. Opposition research, disinformation, money-laundering schemes to conceal huge cash transfers, and a legion quick to do their bidding and present talking points.
Caesar would have been so proud.
1. His religion. Sarah has said we need to vet. IMO there are questions about his faith that need to be talked about now. The American people should/will be asking questions. If the GOP don't start the conversation, you can bet that Axelrod will....He was a Bishop. His faith sees Grace different then most Protestants and the Catholic church.
2. His father had a relationship with Sal Alinsky. (Remember Newt mentioning the name.)He is currently using many of the techniques taught by Alinsky. Hillary was one of his followers. Obama taught classes and used his methods when he worked as a CO. Alinsky dedicated the book RULES FOR RADICALS to Lucifer...Enough said.
3. The Florida Fiasco must be settled now. Michael Steele on TV stated that the rule making April 1st the line for winner take all states. No exception was made for FL. The current President of the GOP wrote FL in Dec telling them they must distribute delegates proportionately.
Now the rules committee has two choices either have an emergency meeting of the rules committee now and save themselves the embarrassment of some very angry people a week before convention or PUSH Romney down the throat of the American people.....WE THE PEOPLE must speak up.
Oh, I’m not voting for Romney either way.
Just forwarded this ‘tip’ to Coulter’s Butt-Boy Drudge!
“....you can always find an acceptable conservative candidate with the American Independent Party.”
Like a third party could be a viable alternative.
News flash.
There ain’t one.
We have to go to war with the army we have, and not the army we want. To be sure, a lot of people whom claim to be Republican, are definitely anti-conservative, and are more than willing to expedite things for their very good friends “across the aisle”. The best we can do, is to mount a primary challenge to the questionable “RINOs” and try to remove them before they become a reliable vote for the Obama agenda. Failing that, we must resort to holding their feet to the fire, making them either so uncomfortable they resign (perhaps to face legal consequences), or otherwise they become compliant to their constituents and not to some distant “money interest” that is most likely funding their campaign for office in a manner altogether at odds with the existing law.
This is going to take a LOT of grassroots organization (which already has some semblance of framework in place), a lot of disappointment (we can’t possibly remove ALL the RINOs), and considerable investment of time, effort and money on the part of the motivated.
Make sure your personal protection is up to date. The Second Amendment is there for a reason.
To make sure we may enjoy the rest of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.
This is true. Got a call from the RNC wanting money. I asked her what would be done with my contribution. She mumbled a few things, then very matter of fact, she actually said, “to help Mitt Romney beat Obama.”. That infuriated me, I then said I didn’t know Romney had already won the nomination and I would never give money to a liberal democrat like him. She then said, “he is a republican.”. I laughed and ended the call. I would think the other candidates would love to know that the RNC has already made up their mind and is actually fundraising for Romney.
I wish Newt would pick an interview and discuss his disdain for the Beltway mentality - his experience as an insider - why he resigned - the infighting and backstabbing - how he woke up. This is the conversation he needs to take to the general public - in a thoughtful, humble, sincere way. Not putting down any individuals, but collectively. Explaining the GOP mentality of going along to get along and not boldly standing firm against socialism.
We love underdogs and we are the underdogs - along with Newt. Newt is us.
Uh-huh! Talk is cheap, where are the numbers to support it?
A poll, regardless who conducts it, is only good for wrapping old fish in.
The REAL polls are in the primaries and in November. So far, the results belie the headline.
By a more than two to one margin, Americans say that the more they learn about Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney, the more they dislike him, per a new Washington Post / ABC poll:No duh.
No one should be suprized by this.
