I recall years ago, a specialist in old English gave a short lecture/interpretation of Shakespeare.
Turns out about every other paragraph he wrote had some kind of VERY spicy interpretation back then, and a good amount of it would have been considered obscene!
What party animals those Victorians were! We never knew!
One might also take a look at good old Mother Goose. No shortage of grahic images there either...if you know history.
